This article is so slanted if it were a record you could only hear it through the left speaker. Term limits do not give lobbyists power over some poor inexperienced politician, in reality it breaks up the cozy long term relationships between legislators “elected for life” and lobbyists seeking special favors. Term limits break down the power electeds gain over the rest of us and remove them from their "royal" seat of power. They already feel entitled, connected and are arrogant enough! After all, they know what is best for us all the time. The “housing boom” and collapse locally can be laid at their feet. They couldn’t wait to approve any development request no matter how bad it was as long they and the developers lined their pockets with profit. Now it is everyone else’s fault, not theirs. Term limits protect the public from the unscrupulous politicos that believe the law and the power belongs to them. If they did not believe it, they wouldn’t be trying to overturn the will of the people who overwhelming approved the law. But remember, they know what is best for us, and what they think is best is what gives them the most power.
