Lets be straight here - there is a democrat running. Say What you will about Andrew Martin, like him or not, he is very much in this race, and has been running a serious campaign for months.
This article has an interesting discussion of the value of term limits, but its completely irrelevant to the fact that the voters of Nevada determined they wnated term limits, and now we have them. If Reid wants to continue to do nothing in Congress after 2010, then he can petition the voters to change their mind. If he does otherwise, I think he'll discover that he may lose his seat regardless.
Nice. Why is it that every election cycle we hear the war cry of improving education and giving teachers decent salaries, and yet when budget cuts come down, it seems that education is always first on the chopping block. Is it really so difficult to see that quality education is tied to everything from real estate values to crime rates? Yes, it takes a few years to realize monetary benefits of improved schools, but I think we can hold out that long if we make it a priority.
This is a nice first step, and the thinking is in the right place, but its well past time that Nevada put some serious invesment into alternative energy infrastructure to move towards making this state the leader in energy self-reliance. Call it step one in taking the power away from the middle east.

I guarantee that the 9.7% were voting purely on name recognition - they remembered the name, but couldn't remember in exactly what context they heard it. No one who knows about her would vote for her. She's an embarrassment to our legal community.
