Vehicular Manslaughter IS and SHOULD BE a misdemeanor. It's an accident, not premeditation. Accidental deaths cannot be treated equally to intended ones.
Obama called out Vegas by name. Poor judgement for a president to attack an American city, period, end of story.
It would be interesting to know what the page-rate or size-rate for ads in the Chinese newspaper are compared to the Sun, the RJ, the Las Vegas Weekly, CityLife, 944 and all the other "Caucasian" print outlets, all of which are too expensive for the small business owner - even one with a realistic advertising budget.
Rogers has always acted like a grandstanding, pious king - though that it in and of itself doesn't warrant disbarment, it does make him self-righteous. If he thinks that this practice does not prejudice the kind of witness who would sell their mothers for a crack rock, he has zero concept of honorable justice. He must go.

"Vegas has only been a "community" for the last 10-20 years or so."
Actually, Las Vegas was much more a community in the 1970s and the early 1980s than it has been at any time since. Hundreds of thousands of warm bodies do NOT a community make.
Any Las Vegas-area art museum belongs in the Downtown Arts District. But, again, without a strong vision by a funding foundation, at least the minimal support of local government, and a reason for locals and visitors to visit, any museum will find it hard to survive.
Sadly, we had more art in and around Las Vegas when Charles Hunsberger was running the Clark County Library District. I could step into any area library at that time and be guaranteed to see an exhibit, or a performance, of something interesting.
Visions and visionaries -- that's what Las Vegas culture needs.
