I was Bev's neighbor prior to selling my home about 8 years ago. Please accept my condolences. My husband and I enjoyed talking with her. She will be missed.

Sandy,
Please send my condolences to Bev's son and granddaughter. I lived at 3902. She was an intelligent, self sufficent lady. Anyone who knew her will miss her.

The woman that died used to be my neighbor. As a single elderly lady she installed the shades as a protection after my house has broken into 2 times. It was once again broken into shortly after it was sold.

Perhaps, rather than fault a person for a habit such as smoking we should be looking at the cause of people being so fearful that they turn their home into Fort Knox.

I have kept in touch with her during the holidays and am saddened by her loss, just as I am sure her family is grieving her passing.

I am amazed at how people think that the teachers should understand this is a tough time and be willing to take a cut in pay. I am wondering why the public didn't think that during the prosperous time perhaps teachers should be thought of...that is perhaps teachers were worthy of reaping some of the dollars that were being made in our community. During the time that our community flourished the teachers did not recieve ANY RAISES!!!! Hmmmm!!! How interesting! I am absolutely unwilling to give up a negotiated raise (if that is what it is called)and/or take any cut in pay. I certainly hope that other teachers take a stand, as well! We need to think about ourselves and our families. There is certainly no one in this community that is going to look out for the teachers!

I am wondering if one does not have the knowledge of the intricacies of the state statutes, if that should prevent one from pursuing an office. I appreciate the enlightenment about the "conflict of interest". I; however, still do not see the conflict. Of course, Mr. Taylor, would not vote on issues that possibly would conflict with his job. I have read postings to that effect. So why would he have to retire to serve in a public office? Do all individuals on our school board retire from employment to serve? I think not. Do they refrain from voting on issues (contracts) when there may be a "conflict of interest"? I hope so, but I fear not.

It seems logical that an individual that has been in the schools working with children in the public classrooms would have knowledge to better the system. My observations are that the individuals in the position to make changes and benefit children are not interested in doing so. Teachers teach and pour out their lives to the children. We reach them one at a time. Yet the perception is that we are greedy, lazy, and selfish. From my experience, the opposite is true.

I believe that Ron Taylor is the best choice for residents of Seat B. For our children we must vote Ron Taylor onto the school board!
