Posted on: Sanford won't return as UNLV coach in 2010

His meltdown after the Iowa State game notwithstanding, Mike Sanford is a gentleman and a class act. It's unfortunate he wasn't able to achieve success on the field at UNLV but he represented the university well and, for the most part, his players stayed out of trouble off the field and graduated.

I certainly hope NASCAR puts more thought into this than they did the COT. Brian France and Mike Helton like to talk about "unintended consequences" whenever the subject of change comes up but they didn't take that into consideration when they launched the smoldering pile that is the COT.

Don't you think the Cup racers would have a little more control over their cars than the nitwits that populate the bottom half (two-thirds?) of a Nationwide Series race?

I'm all for rain tires in Cup.
