Actually, skisailmtb40, you're mistaken. If you read the stories on the history and politics of Yucca Mountain that ran Oct. 12 and Oct. 13 you'll see that I clarified just that point with Obama's campaign. From his Nevada spokeswoman Kirsten Searer:
"Sen. Obama understands the importance of nuclear power as one element of a comprehensive energy plan, but he has repeated said that the Yucca Mountain dump itself is unsafe. The site itself brings up many concerns about safety (and) he has consistently said Yucca Mountain is not a safe place to store this nuclear waste... It's something he would take a look at as soon as he's in office... We need a president who can finally put an end to Yucca Mountain."
Rick Gorka, McCain's Nevada spokesman, on the other hand said, "The senator supports Yucca as long as it meets environmental and safety concerns." That's a position very similar to the "sound science" one that Pres. George W. Bush took while campaigning in Nevada, too.
Those are the facts, skisailmtnb40.

I would beg to differ with those of you who think, as BringtheRain said, that "no other city in America has (fewer) recreation options."
Actually, Las Vegas was ranked No. 1 by National Geographic Adventure magazine for outdoor recreation. The city has more "outdoor action within a 200-mile (322-kilometer) radius than any other major town in the nation."
