I could never vote for Porter. He has done nothing substantial for this state. Please review the debates with Dina Titus. It's Harry Reid. He understands the needs of Nevada, and he will be a phone call away from the President.

Hey KDR81

Which hat did you pull that number from?

I rather cite a reference from wikipedia than npri.

As reported, "Late last week, the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce touted that a report it commissioned found Nevada's tax system to be relatively stable. The tax system isn't to blame for the state budget crisis, the economy is, the chamber said."

Our tax system is responsible for the high degree of volatility during economic contractions, because state services like education rely too heavily on a few industries such as tourism. It's high time the chamber engages meaningful discussions with leaders and the public to develop viable solutions to soften the "boom and bust cycle". To pretend or ignore there's no problems with Nevada's tax structure is unethical and irresponsible to the future progress of Nevada's Education System and other state needs.

Is that the same Beers who now feels indebted to UNLV when just last year he was against increasing the funding for the university? (The so-called decrease in the increase debacle) He didn't understand the needs of Nevada's Education System then. It's unlikely he gets it now.

We don't need to stinkin tax cap. Besides, tax issues are better decided through the legislative process.

thebs writes, "A little less money into Freedom's Watch, a little more money into your company, Mr. Adelson."

Well said! You're fiducially responsible to your company first.

Oh that's all we need is another doom and gloom state senator. After reading that mailer, I felt like I needed a prescription for Prozac. Paid for by the committee to improve Nevada's economy and education system was an especially funny touch.

If you want to improve Nevada's Education System vote for Allison Copening. Education is a very important issue to her.

Vote Allison Copening for State Senate District 6
