As I said in my earlier post, the media will begin walking away from these guys until they come up w/ solutions to americas problems....check out this NY Post article..OWS is supported by the Chinese Gov, Russia Putin, Hugo Chaves, Irans Gov....and Obama
My last thought, no doubt corporate money influence in Washington needs to snd or be minimized and true tax reform needs to take place to make all pay fair amounts....but what I find most interesting is the new social media ability to create public interest and change, whether in the middle east, OWS or other...lots of change and influence happening here as people learn to use this new tool.
One other note, this is a media induced event, meaning that without the media driving this event it will die. The issues most speak to are real and we all know them, such as wars, air pollution, drilling for oil in america, feeding the poor, housing, banks, taxes, peoples personal situations, etc. But, no one can walk into that park and hang their political reputations on this event. I am sure you have all walked down the street and have seen someone sitting on the ground screaming, sort of like talking to themselves...there are 30 people doing this in Zicotti Park...and the media is buying into each screaming issue and making it a movement...
I am confused as to what the media is trying to accomplish and the real question that I came away with was, what is the media trying to manipulate? Where will the media take this, or am I right as this event is not in focus in most major news headlines today and they will now begin to back away and highlight just the troubles that come from this?
I am in NYC and attended the OWS location yesterday at Zicotti Park next to ground zero. Before I continue, check the major news web sites this am, not a word on OWS. The reason, is that OWS is set up like a trade show, where each iindividual is sitting on the ground screaming out his grievance to anyone who wants to listen...and believe me it has brought out the looney tunes of NYC. This event was being hijacked by the unions and whomever else wanted to pitch their name on it to match Tea Party political envy, but what I saw yesterday the media is now seeing and they will want no part of this mess in the future...sounds good but the reality is that this is a real fringe, not the other 99 percent..
I completely agree with changing the tax code, as the first comment states, but this President and now Harry Reid are dead set on starting a civil war in this country. Evident by how they use demeaning and dividing words to make their point and push their positions. This from a president who said he would bring us together as Americans. Is this method of pushing an agenda a sign of a good leader? Are there other ways in which to accomplish this? Is this the first president to use this divisive tactic? Is our country becoming more and more divided because of it?
I do not make a millionaires income, so this tax would not affect me, but it's not the America I grew up knowing. I respect people who work hard and succeed. Now that the unions have joined the homeless people in their protests near wall street, the civil war as the Russian academic Igor Panarin had predicted in 2008 ( see Wall St Journal article http://online.wsj.com/article/SB12305110... )is forming its roots.
It's the people making 200k per year vs the people who don't have a good job, its entrepreneurs vs people who do nothing, its federal and state employees vs people who pay taxes.
We need a leader that brings us together, asks us all as one and gets us all together on common ground by asking us all to do are part...not singling out a specific group for his own ideological purposes.
I voted for hope and change in 2008, I will not vote for BO again, and neither should you, this is not leadership.
He had a 60 seat majority in the senate during his first 2 years in office plus a majority in the house...he could of put through any thing he wanted, he could of repealed the Bush tax cuts, reformed immigration or any other program you now say that republicans are holding him back on....you have to admit with these facts and the soon repeal of Obamacare his presidency will be recognized in history as a total failure...who would give him another 4 years?
wow...can't believe that some in here just think keep spending and keep taxing...those of you who see it this way are, let me guess...working for min wage but are over the age of 30, have never employed anyone or risked your own money did not eat and paid your employees before you paid yourself and did with out many things in order to find some success as an entreprenuer...reailze you can only tax so much and spend so much before we all have to realize that we must lower our expectations of quality of life in this country bc you cant live off your credit cards forever
Birdie....so true....if you can't pay, get out of the way...its not yours. The sooner we hit bottom the sooner we begin to rebuild.

As an entreprenuer I can tell you that there is no job security on a funded project, for when the project ends and the funds dry up...you are out of work. Investments must spur revenue, Obama has no programs like this in place, nor is he proposing them for two good reasons, one is the Govt does not do biz like this and two Obama has no idea to create a job. Jobs bill/stimulous 2 is same as stim one, I dont expect to see our local or national economy improve before election day so expect lots of class warfare and blaming others, as this road show and Jobs bill are planned to do.
