Since Dawn Gibbons was also with Leslie when Leslie gave birth, why is Leslie walking around holding Jim's hand and not supporting Dawn "through this horrible time during the divorce"?
Something more than fishy with this!
What date did Leslie give birth? Does anyone know??
I wonder what six time married Mrs. Leslie Sellers-Cord-Sferrazza-Sferrazza-Ford-Slusser-Durant is hoping to be offered from the National Inquirer and/or Play Boy for another photo spread? Anything to get her name and face in the media?
I keep wondering if this is a real legal document or if someone is just "filling us in"?
Holy Moly!!
I'm a little confused after reading this article.
Does this mean the existing "Free" lanes will remain open and available to travel and toll lanes will be added onto these roads?
Or, does it mean that the toll lanes are "voluntary" because we wouldn't HAVE to drive on these roads to get where we are going?
I agree with the recall! I hope that someone who has the money will get this started. I know a lot of people feel the same way, so perhaps we can pitch in $10.00 per family to get this started?
Not only is this divorce being handled poorly, don't forget that the Governor KNEW January 2, about the Hepatitis C crisis and did nothing about it until March 2. How many others may have become infected through exposure from those that have it?
Was he too busy with "other things" to worry about the people that were exposed or potentially exposed to this horrible disease?
I have no idea how in the world he expects The First Lady to survive. He wants her out of the Mansion while he is living in their home. (Alone?) They had to take a mortgage on the home, to pay off HIS legal bills. Dawn has no income and he has frozen all assets, apparently including bank accounts. He has even cancelled credit cards. How the heck is she suppose to survive?
This is not what Nevada needs to be known for, a Governor who abandons his Wife and even his own dogs!
Divorce is a very painful thing to go through. I cannot begin to imagine the pain of having a very public divorce.
Dawn Gibbons is a very caring and giving woman. She is NOT paid by anyone, yet has been the leading force in obtaining recognition and sometimes funding, for such worthwhile causes such as Autism, Meth Addiction Recovery, Organ/Tissue Donation and the list goes on.
A few years ago, I personally witnessed Dawn speaking to a young man (who was in the National Guard) whose wife was very ill. He could not afford to fill her medication that month. Dawn gave him the last money that she had remaining in her account so this man's wife could have the medication she so badly needed.
What thanks does she get? Nasty comments left on blogs, nasty rumors, etc. Where are the people that she has helped throughout the years? WHERE ARE YOU?
As to her being in the Governor's Mansion while the Governor is living in their home in Reno - Just a few of my personal thoughts: People call and email the Governor's Mansion to request The First Lady's help and attendance at events. Was she advised to stay by her attorney? If she us unable to speak to the Governor, how is she suppose to coordinate moving back to their now mortgaged home? Don't forget, they had to take a loan out on this once paid off house for legal bills. How is she going to make the payments on this house since, according to media reports, all assets have been frozen?
The Governor has a paying job, the First Lady does not.
She is still performing her duties as First Lady of Nevada. Her entire year (and no doubt part of next year as well) is no doubt booked solid from people requesting her time, talent and support.
As to the inaccurate comments about she and Governor Jim Gibbons not living together for so long: Congress is only in session (normally) Tuesday through Thursday. Governor Gibbons, then Congressman Gibbons, flew back to Reno, to their home, when he was not required to be in Washington D.C. This is common for those in Congress. Example: Congresswoman Shelly Berkley's Husband, Dr. Larry Lehrner, does not live in Washington, D.C. Does that mean they are not living together? Along these same lines, to those of you married to someone who travels a lot - i.e. Sales or a Professional Long Haul Truck Driver, beware - These same people would say that you and your spouse aren't living together either!
When then Assemblyman Gibbons was called back into active duty, to defend our Country, does that mean they weren't living together by choice? I think not.
What happened to this couple? I have no idea. The stress of Public Life can sometimes wreak havoc on the strongest of relationships.
Those of you pointing fingers and making nasty comments, please look inside yourself.
Thank you First Lady Dawn for all that you have done for the people in Nevada. Be Strong and Hold Your Head High!!
When you elect a Governor, you sometimes (as in this case) get two hard working people for the price of one. Dawn has attended many events when the Governor could not, including memorial services for those lost in the Iraq War.
Dawn is still Nevada's First Lady, until they are divorced. Have any type of papers been filed? If not, aren't they still legally married?
Perhaps she is staying in hope that they can still work things out. She probably doesn't want to abandon their 22 year marriage... If she moves back to their home in Reno, how is she suppose to pay the bills since she sold her businesses to aid their family's (including the Governor's) financial needs?
She worked hard for our State when Jim was in Iraq, later as an Assemblywoman, Congressman's Wife and now as First Lady. I don't believe that she is paid for the hard work she is doing/has done for various organizations and for our State since becoming First Lady.
What does Nevada law say about the abandonment of a Spouse? Isn't this basically what has happened?
If even one of the many rumors are true and the Governor has left her for another woman, then I would stay in the Mansion too, just to make sure the other woman isn't moved in.

I find the comment that this story originated from either Dawn or her attorney a little hard to believe. I'm sure that with all the Governor is being seen doing in public (Leslie, Kathy and others) that his team wants to place whatever blame they can on Dawn or Cal.
benighse: In reference to your comments - Some were excellent ideas that need to be followed up. However, exactly when was Dawn seen hugging Drs. in Wingfield Park?
People DO care about what Jim is doing in public. I don't think giving someone a hug is the same as having their hand on each other butts, which is what Jim and Leslie have been seen doing several times, at different events.
Perhaps Jim is going to make this property a Retired Bunny Ranch for has been Playboy Bunnies. Does that qualify for the Agricultural discount?
