I think the Congresswoman is a fabulous choice. Thank you Senator Reid and thank you Congresswoman for all you have done and all you will continue to do. You are a wonderful public servant and we are lucky to have you.
Term limits were and remain a terrible idea. It prevents the voters from selecting the most qualified person for the job. I am so grateful that we don't have them on the federal level so we can choose experienced, well qualified people like Congresswoman Berkley and Senator Reid.
We all saw what a terrible loss it was to the Senate when Senator Kennedy died. Now, in Nevada, we are creating the equivalent huge holes that can never be filled - an entire legislature full of people in training and then, just when they are finally comfortable and competent procedurally, term limits kick in.
That is SO funny.
Good grief. The man is delusional at best if he thinks he will make it through a primary. How does one become that detached from reality?

Mr. Stivers. That isn't crickets - it is frustrated silence. I speak for a lot of my Democratic friends when I say we have a plan - it is called Medicare. The Affordable Health Care Act made some fixes, we would charge Medicare tax on ALL income. We would open Medicare to all citizens to increase the size and ages of the pool. Then we would work on cost curves, but seriously we believe in Medicare so it isn't crickets it's our inability to understand why you would take a safety net program that has served the country so well for so long and shred it.
