I love the enthusiasm Dr. Paul is getting from a lot of our young voters! I remember feeling that way, a few decades ago. Sadly: The only thing that any of the candidates can do once elected to office, as Commander-in-Chief, is withdraw from Iraq; everything else any of these Dem or Rep candidates promise requires congressional support/approval.
As commented on earlier, read the Constitution. Promising us one thing and being able to deliver is another. Dr. Paul on Monday said he has put together a bill that if passed would require one parent to be an American citizen before the baby born on our soil is a citizen. Read the 14th Amendment to the Constitution of the United States:
"Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any state deprive any person of life, liberty, or property withiut due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the law."
Seems pretty clear to me...born here, citizen, period.
Takes a two-thirds vote of both houses of Congress to pass an amendment then three-fourths of the states to ratify any amendment to the constitution.
I don't think a Democrat Congress will garner enough votes to pass the amendment especially in light of the Democrat position on illegal immigrants oh sorry, undocumented workers.
So along with wanting Dr. Paul as President it is imperative that he has a Republican controlled congress........
