Way to respect our veterans, Republicans....grab a sign from an Iraq Veteran Against the War (www.ivaw.org) who is exercising his free speech rights after fighting for our country, then tear the sign in half and throw him out of the hall. How patriotic!!! By the way, the sign read "McCain Votes Against Vets", a fact which can be verified by checking McSAME's voting record....
McCain can't be sure veterans will fall in behind him (L.A.Times)
"The 1.4-million-member group [Disabled American Veterans] said that in 2006, [McCain] voted for only one of the five spending bills the group considered most important -- 20%.
"It's a pretty low score," said David Autry, spokesman for the congressionally chartered nonprofit group. The group rated Obama (D-Ill.) at 80%....
The four [bills McCain] opposed would have increased funding for veterans' services and benefits...."
