They allot 2500 seats for students for every game. The students never use that many.

If 24 hours before a game students haven't gotten tickets, they project how many walk ups will come and sell the rest (all upstairs).

This happened three times last year, Arizona, BYU, and Wyoming. UNLV is one of the few schools in the country where students still get free tickets. No student (up to 2500 of them at least) will ever be denied a ticket if they pick them up a few days before game time.

What would you propose? They have huge empty sections and miss out on revenue in this economy just in case, for the first time ever, a thousand students get walk up tickets on game day?

fast, read up the comments list. I am merely defending someone's assertion that Kruger shouldn't pay someone 100k to market UNLV basketball. And yeah, 100k is more than the median, but it is small sum for someone responsible for marketing a multi-million dollar enterprise.

Only 14,300? For a day game on a holiday weekend? That's a solid turnout. The last time a quality OOC opponent came for a Saturday day game was U of A last year. Attendance was 16,700, but at least 4,000 were U of A fans in town for the Las Vegas Bowl.

With about 100 Louisville fans in town, that means we improved on last year by 1,500. Not too bad in an ever worsening economy.

Um, got an education and worked hard. I didn't create the formula. It's been around for years and available for anyone willing to follow it.

rebelz, you've shown how little you know about the topic.

USA Today ran a story in the spring about all the schools in major conferences losing attendance from the previous year. They attributed it to the economy.

Well as we all know, the economy is worse here than anywhere else in the nation.

But with coach and DJ taking over marketing, the Rebels had a nearly 20 percent increase in ticket sales.

And you think $100k is a lot of money? The only full-time job I'd take for that paltry sum is swimsuit contest judge. I'd have to seriously love my job to work for so little.
