I know exactly why Carson City Mayor Marv Teixeira is not meeting with Gov. Palin, he's afraid to piss off Sen. McCain. People involved in politics have heard about Senator McCain’s explosive temper, but who would have guessed he would go after Governor Palin already? He has single handedly tied her to a “pig with lipstick” forever. While Senator Obama was talking about Bush’s policies, Senator McCain wasted no time applying the “pig in lipstick” to his running mate. Now I can’t pass a barbeque outlet without thinking about pigs in lipstick! I even find myself referring to Governor Palin as Governor Piggy. What was McCain thinking?
Also, despite all the threats from McCain’s handlers that if the National Enquirer wrote about Governor Palin’s alleged extra-marital affair, they would sue, the Enquirer wrote and I’ve heard nothing about a lawsuit. Talk about being thrown under the bus. Wow!
Why would Mayor Teixeira want to get in the middle of this squabble? McCain's vendetta against Gov. Palin is awesome to watch---but participate? I think not.
Part of being a feminist is to recognize that we have been fighting for the best PERSON--not just a woman or a minority. Edwards is so clearly the best PERSON to be President that I am still astounded that the media virtually ignores him. I hope Nevadans have the courage to use their new caucus system to show the U.S. that Edwards is the best candidate and that he then goes on to take South Carolina, the Democratic nomination and finally the Presidency. I'm really tired of Democrats picking candidates who can beat other Democrats instead of picking candidates who can beat Republicans. Look at the polls!!! Hillary can't beat the lowest ranked Republican candidate. Obama can only beat the two lowest ranked Republicans and John is shown as beating EVERY Republican Presidential candidate. Doesn't that tell us something?

Look into a bill introduced by Assemblyman Joe Hogan that would have created much stronger and more timely disclosure requirements. If the below minimum wage salary given to legislators doesn't discourage people from running, filling out reports won't do it either.
