Wikipedia and especially the offshoot Wiktionary have long had an anti-Las Vegas bias. There are a few east coast Wiktionary "experts" with censorship powers who insisted that the preferred pronunciation of Nevada is neh-vah-duh ('a' as in water) and that the (correct) neh-va-duh ('a' as in dad) "western state" pronunciation was "just a local thing".
This falsehood was despite pronunciation sites like inogolo.com which state quite clearly that the opposite is true. Some of these Wiktionary folks are arrogant beyond belief.
