Nicely said Mr. Snyder and so true. Las Vegas has not reached its true potential but we are definitely on our way and the Smith Center for the Performing Arts is just the beginning of a great journey...
The Las Vegas Academy continues to enrich the lives of Southern Nevadans. Great program and one worth supporting.
If you have not been to the Academy I would highly suggest attending their many performances. These young adults are solidifying their future in the arts.
Here Here Docholliday nicely said and so true...
This is great news for our Runnin Rebs... UNLV has always been Basketball powerhouse... Now lets get rid of the football program and redirect that money to academics...
No mention of the outlet stores Downtown? It was packed this morning and much better priced than anything you can get on the Strip...
Thank you so much for this wonderful bit of history. Looking back I was fortunate to have my photo taken with that collection. It is unfortunate that "Becky" did not have the vision to save the collection for posterity.
Thanks Rebelsfan11...
That is exactly what I meant. Lets concentrate resources where they will be best utilized... UNR Gets football... UNLV Gets Basketball...
To Letsgorebs...
UNLV Basketball used to be a powerhouse. Lets make it again and discontinue this infantile obsession with a football team.
It is time to do away with the program all together. Let Reno be the football powerhouse of the state and let UNLV be the basketball powerhouse.
Sad and disappointing that Las Vegas' Nouveau Riche could not have purchased the whole lot and donated it to the Las Vegas Natural History Museum.

Most disappointing comments by one of Nevada's most distinguished historians. I for one do not in anyway, shape or form agree with Mr. Rocha's assessment.
In either case Nevada will move forward and upward culturally and economically whether Mr. Rocha likes it or not.
