Bob, you are comparing a security guard to a teacher. I'm comparing a partner in a prestigious law firm to a city attorney.

Yet, you are criticizing my point.

Odd.

Actually $190,000 is probably a significant pay cut from what Josh was making in private practice. So I don't understand how he's way overpaid as the above posts state.

So let me get this straight, an organization in excess of 2,000 employees gives 49 raises and Ralston throws a fit? Wow.

I have to imagine that in this era where employees are expected to "do more with less" there are at least 49 people on the CLV payroll that deserve a pay increase.

Save the sharp objects for a real scandal Jon.

Wow. $450 per hour for a bond counsel is VERY low.

This witch hunt is going to seriously cost Clark County if it continues. $500 per hour is a complete drop in the bucket compared to what it would cost to defend a bondholder lead lawsuit. There are only a few attorneys in this state that are qualified in this area. I would be very wary of shopping for cheap advice--especially when it comes to stuff like public debt.

Sisolak may get votes for this sort of behavior, but he runs the risk of costing the county millions.

Sounds like a great place for my daughter's first grade class to go for a field trip.

Seriously, this is the dumbest idea for a museum i have ever seen, and the fact that it is being publicly financed is just the cherry on top. What an embarrassment.

Cynical Observer, you are right.

Even Sarah Palin, as Governor of Alaska, got a bill enacted that levied a huge tax on corporations extracting Alaska's natural resources. If the Holy Mother of the Tea Party can do it, why can't Nevada Democrats?

Maybe because the money that should be going to the people of Nevada is going to the campaign funds all Nevada legislators.

Sgt Rock, can you please provide a a reliable citation for the '7 percent' quote? You can take all the time you need.

Turrialbe, do you believe that sales taxes, real estate taxes, Medicare, Social Security, unemployment insurance, car registrations, etc, are not taxes? In what planet do you live?

TomD, the government can't create jobs? Really? So we don't need infrastructure construction at all? And what about all the advances in technology that have been created in part because of government spending? Never created a job huh?

Jimmy,

I think the size of last year's snowpack took everyone by surprise. The NOAA originally predicted a less than average snowpack. It turned out to be huge. Ironically, the year before was an El Nino year and large snowpack was predicted that never materialized. You just never know with Mother Nature.

And the hits keep coming.

As the quality of life in Nevada continues to degrade for the average Joe, mining companies continue to amass obscene, tax-free profits by extracting non-renewable resources from state lands.

Sarah Palin once said as Governor of Alaska, "When we develop our natural resources, we will do so for the maximum benefit of Alaskans.'' To bad our governor and legislators don't feel the same way.
