Skolnik is overly concerned with releasing 1,500 inmates as required by legislators because that will cause a loss of prisoners to fight fires? An entire prison is being shut down because of lack of prison population, while $300 million will be spent on new construction. He tries to explain this but cannot because it lacks logic, no matter how many words he throws at it.
I fear for Chaplain Jane and hope she retains a good lawyer and quick. She may be in for a long and fierce battle. The good ole boys don't take kindly when you don't tuck tail and run away scared. The coyotes are circling the wagon.
Chaplain Jane was specific when speaking about the Parole Board. This is a good example of the PB vindictiveness:

There is not enough space here to convince you that Nolan Kline is innocent. Nonetheless, the parole board is unethical and corrupt. They need to follow guidelines and policy according to the law. They have broken the law like those who appear before them.
Remember that the AG's officce ASKED the chaplain for her comments and suggestions. They didn't like what she said and now look at the poistion this fine woman is in. They are vilifying her. Can you imagine what the heavy hand of the AG's office can do to this chaplain, much less an inmate? The behaviors and motivation of those responsible for going after the chaplain need to be brought to light with the harshest of scrutiny. This situation has all the markings of a cover-up and protectionism within the good ol' boys system.
This is a scenario that is becoming the standard of attempting to quiet someone who has a different viewpoint than one of the good ol' boys. Chaplain Jane is solid and sincere. Her points are concise and clear, and would solve many problems that face our communities dealing with inmates and particularly the Parole Board. Certainly she made no inappropriate suggestions or did anything that could be construed as bad behavior on her part. She does not deserve this treatment.
It is a shame that the Attorney Generals offfice and Prison personnel would treat this wise and educated chaplain in such a manner. Shame on them and shame on Nevada for allowing this behavior from their government. The prison system is a huge industry in Nevada. As they say, follow the money.
As the above poster stated "Please do more on this criminal enterprise known as NDOC" Ditto!

Judges, prosecutors, commissioners, board members and all other corrupt public officials who KNOW of the wrongdoings within the justice system and look the other way or engage in cover-ups, it is called RATIFICATION.
In my opinion, many of these public servants are members of the largest criminal enterprise in the state of Nevada.
I too like the idea of posting signs of those persons wrongfully convicted.
Tonja, I am truly sorry that Nolan passed away because of the negligence of the NDOC. He should have never been there in the first place. Withholding medical treatment for such a serious blood disorder is guaranteed to quiet Nolan. It is my belief that withholding treatment was intentional and deliberate. The cost of treating this disease is minimal - next to nothing.
That being said, I am glad Nolan was in attendance at this meeting - outside of the walls of prison.
