Stories like these should not be printed. Why let the criminals know how you are catching them when you can just keep quietly catching them? All printing articles like this will do is make them go to another state to steal the Identity. For the DMV to share this info is counter-productive to the program with no benefits at all. Leave it to our government to inform the enemy (in this case the identity thieves) of just how they are getting caught so they can figure a way around it. Way to go DMV, ruin a successful program so you can brag a little and ask for more money. What a bunch of dolts.

Although I did have to accept an offer $120,000 less than a broken deal that never closed last August, I did sell recently at almost $200/sq foot, to a cash buyer. Certainly disappointing from the $300/sq foot the property could have easily commanded in mid 2007. Having many houses nearby listed at ridiculously low prices "subject to short sale," without any real intention of selling, has done considerable harm to home values, if only in the minds of prospective buyers seeing the lower priced properties listed and questioning why pay up.

One thing not mentioned about all the short sales listed is that many of them are not really for sale. What I mean is that the homes are not being made accessible to agents or buyers and are listed as "subject to short sale" in an attempt to make it appear to the lenders as there is no interest in the property so the owners can attempt to modify their existing mortgage or bring in a straw buyer to reduce the principle owed and put the property in a position where it can be rented cash flow positive. In my opinion, many properties listed as subject to short sale are part of an ongoing fraud by some realtors and mortgage mod firms and are helping to acerbate the problem of declining values. These subject to short sale listings create an illusion of unrealistically low prices and have a negative effect on surrounding existing home values. They also leave legitimate sellers with one more hurdle that can be difficult to clear when dealing with perspective buyers.

Unless the owner is capable and willing to pay the difference between the sale price and what is owed, listing properties for less than the amount of all liens should be banned. This would bring greater transparency to the housing market and lenders wouldn't be hoodwinked into making modifications or short sales and would give prospective buyers a clearer picture of the actual for sale market and possibly help stabilize home values for everyone.

When a female friend of mine got mugged by two black men in the bellagio garage and had her purse stolen, the responding metro officers said it happens every night in a parking garage somewhere in town. A lot of security cameras on the money, none to help protect the people that spend it. A reason I suggest everyone use valet service when parking at any casino, strip club, mall or restaurant. Much less likely to be attacked leaving a place if you are standing by the front door.

There is also a particularly disturbing case presently making it's way through the Civil Court System where Treasures Strip Club was the scene of a near deadly attack by 4 men who brutally beat a single male patron, twice within a 10 minute period. Particularly disturbing because with every inch of Treasures covered by video cameras no footage of the perpetrators or the attack has been made available to the victim or media and no charges have been filed in the case. Councilman Wolfson submitted statements on behalf of the only two identified attackers to Metro and the DA decided not to pursue charges or the other 2 attackers' identities. Thank you councilman Wolfson for helping creatures like this continue to prey on your citizens and visitors alike.

broken arm? I had a fractured spine and multiple other fractures and still waited over 12 hours for care at Sunrise. If it gets much worse they'll need to set up a morgue in the ER and just let people wait till they're dead.

I agree that this is such a minor infraction to spend so much time on when I know of a few particular cases brought to the board in the last year that are much more serious. Just last night I witnessed a similar "rude" officer at an accident site at DI and Joe Brown who kept screaming at a lady that didn't immediately make a U turn upon his demands. It was obvious she had no Idea where to go and with construction closing a lane on DI she couldn't even make the turn. She shouted "I'm calling Metro" as she pulled away, the officer just laughed.

But the jist of my comment is what will it take to re-open several much more severe cases of police misconduct where the boards rubber stamp policy was in effect?

If you read this Ms. Beckman feel free to email me at LVBadCops@aol.com

I'd love to discuss one case in particular where perhaps even an unidentified police officer is involved in the crime, giving a sure fire reason for an IA cover up. All caught on tape, but good luck trying to see it as the Metro Detective in charge of the case lied for 7 months saying the video did not exist yet one Lt. at Metro slipped and claimed his detective viewed "20 hours of insignificant video." The least you will find is that the numerous cameras on the property could identify the 4 suspects who have never been charged, even though 2 have been identified. That's where my bet is you find your unidentified police officer. Any takers?

Prediction: Crazy Horse Too is headed to the proverbial glue factory as the latest deal falls apart. The last minute begging for equity partners by certain Real Estate Consultants in the valley is indicative of a broken deal. Don't ask any questions, just give us 5 mill +. Can you say desperation has set in?
