When are we going to undo the insanity of Nixon and legalize marijuana - and save BILLIONS in wasted money and empty out half our prisons!

With regard to marijuana, the war on drugs has been a failure - go after the cocaine, crack, meth and heroin dealer networks, but let's legalize marijuana - PLEASE!

Regulate it, tax it, and enforce the laws as we do with alcohol and prescription drugs - but, let's stop wasting tax dollars!

I'm not a pot smoker - but I know a lot of guys and gals who get it legally, use it responsibly and don't drink, or smoke, and drive. How hard is it to be a mature, responsible adult - most are able to behave legally!

KUDOS to the Sun for covering this story! Now, that the DOD has finally recognized the selfless sacrifice of our deceased POW's - maybe, they can "come to their senses" about how to treat our surviving Disabled Veterans with due dignity TOO!

All I want to say is "Ring-RING" "Knock-KNOCK" and "Tick TOCK" - the Democrats started much earlier and have been working every neighborhood and every precinct, calling people, knocking on doors and wisely utilizing the most valuable resource - TIME!

Now, the Republicans are nervous and already whining, sniveling and complaining - gee, I just don't feel sorry for them at all!

Maybe the Republicans will squeek by and hold onto Nevada? Maybe the Democrats will finally turn Nevada BLUE by a slim margin? It's still too close to call, though Nevada is leaning Democrat today - the probable reality is that little old Nevada won't really matter - and, if that turns into reality, I'll be thankful for that TOO!

Then, again, maybe, just maybe we will see the greatest landslide ever in American history - now, wouldn't that be wonderful?

Going back in time, the idea was that the United Nations Multi-national Force would serve in the role of "peacekeepers" (after a conflict ends) to protect the peace while the "nation builders" reconstructed the infrastructure and the society returned to the rule of law - that hasn't worked out too well, given, the wide-spread corruption in the United Nations...

...still, imagine if you can, that every soldier in every army aspired to be assigned to duty with the U.N. Multi-national Force because it was the best trained, best equipped, most desirable way for a professional soldier to serve in the most awesome force to preserve the peace?

Sadly, the U.N. is the last place most soldiers would want to be associated with - because of the corruption and incompetence!

Hey, the bottom line remains, America has a Department of Defense - not OFFENSE! The ideas of maintaining de tente and deterrence remain preferable to moving from defense into offense. When we wage offensive war the goal is to get the bad guys back to the negotiating table and back on the path of peace - it's not about "killing them all and letting God sort it out" - that's genocide and insane and un-American!

I'm all for our military being fully equipped, trained and prepared to hunt down, find, capture or kill our enemies - being able to accomplish such missions is the ony way to credibly stand as a military power. But, using force should always be a last resort after exhausting every resonable political and diplomatic avenue - the Great American Just War Tradition (which way too many seem to have forgotten in the run up to the unnecessary war in Iraq)! But, then, since when does the President or Congress really listen to military professionals - or our retired professional military?

After all, what the heck do veterans know about war and peace the ultimate costs of freedom any way?

Gee, Megan, is Porter responsible for anything?

Porter has voted AGAINST the best interests of OUR TROOPS, time and time again - and AGAINST our MILTIARY FAMILIES!

Porter has voted AGAINST the needs of our DISABLED VETERANS, time and time again - TOO!

Every Military and Military Family Member and every Disabled Veterans should take a good, long hard look at Porter's dispicable voting record - and VOTE FOR DINA TITUS!

The best thing that came out of the Vietnam War was a new generation of industrious Vietnamese-Americans that understand compassion - KUDOS to all involved in this effort!

Waiting on our corrupt government representatives to do something will only result in people dying and the rest of us being disappointed - we the people have the ultimate power to just do the right thing!

Stories like this keep the thread of hope alive!

"jfinance" you say the "The Democrats stink!!!!" Compared to what, the thousands of rotting corpses of the Republican Party?

Like many people who have read your rants, and now just skim by most of them - I've come to the conclusion you need some serious psychological counseling dude!

You, too, can change by just being open to the idea that maybe, just maybe, there might be a chance that you may be wrong and there just might be a few people out here that know a little more than you - reach out for help soon!

Well, as of today, we only have 30 days left until the November elections will be finally over - and about a month from now we will be holding our breath watching the numbers roll in!

I am thankful that little ole' Nevada has only 5 electoral votes and it may not matter much which way Nevada goes - just as long as McCain is going back to Arizona and Palin is going back to Alaska!

But, taking in all the news, my gut tells me we are about to bear witness to the meanest, rudest and ugliest political campaign ever in American history - it will establish record breaking lows for all of us!

Perhaps we should have the authorities put an electronic ankle bracelet on Gibbons so we can track his where-abouts? Hey, we could tell him it's a new fangled technology for Homeland Security to protect him from terrorists - he'd probably believe that line?

Or, how about also putting him in a bunker, you know, for Homeland Security - and just getting the Lt. Governor to step up?
