Obama and McCain made a pact to stick with public financing for the campaigns, too.
McCain kept his word. Obama broke his word and out-financed McCain 6-1 (taking money from donors who cannot be identified, many of whom are abroad.)
Shall we talk about honoring the "spirit of a pact??"
Yes, I neglected to say that the "balance of power" envisioned by our founding fathers will go out the window, too.
With an overwhelming majority in the house, a filibuster-proof majority in the senate and a federally-funded, loyal grass-roots organization that can manipulate election systems, what do we call this persuasive, charismatic, powerful guy in the white house, who has lots of money from here and abroad.
What would be his title? POTUS seems so mundane.
*****Obama can do a lot of damage to the nation and to our individual freedoms.***** Obama will introduce a Socialist tax policy designed to "share the wealth."
Kiss your 401k good-bye, because it will be nationalized. For workers, membership in a union will become mandatory. We are a union household and it will surprise you to know that we totally disagree with this policy. But then, we are totally against Marxism in any way shape or form.
Our individual rights to life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness will go out the window with an Obama presidency (or should I say dictatorship?). Those who do not want to go to work to pursue the American dream will be rewarded. Those who work hard and succeed will be penalized because they earn too much...Obama will demand that high income earners share with with their less-fortunate fellow citizens by redistributing their wealth. By the way, his definition of a high income earner today dropped down to $120,000, down from the $250,000 he talked abo0ut last month.
Why don't we listen to Arnold Schwarzeneger...he said today that he came to the U.S. to escape from the Socialism in Europe. He doesn't want this country to become Socialist like Europe. He sees that happening if Obama is elected.
I like to think there are many smart and capable women who choose to go into public service. Sarah Palin, for instance, started out as a small-town mayor, and headed the Energy Commission of Alaska prior to becoming governor. She has lots of expertise on energy matters and she can provide the intelligent leadership we need to get us off dependency on foreign oil.
Hillary Clinton is another smart woman who elected to go into public service. It is too bad the Democrat Party did such a hatchet job on her. They used character assassination and sexism to deny Hillary a fair and equal opportunity to run for high office. The Republicans didn't have anything to do with that savage political crucifixtion. Her own party has no respect for what a competent and intelligent woman she is.
At least the Republicans give capable, qualified women an opportunity to serve in important positions of leadership. Gov. Palin, is the most highly-respected governor in the nation and enjoys the highest approval rating out of all 50 governors.

This has been the first year in the last 10 yrs that we didn't come to Vegas. We love your city, but high gas prices kept us close to home. If the gas prices continue to stabalize, we'll se ya next year.
In this country, we really need to take care of ourselves and that means we should produce our own American-drilled fuel. That's the only thing that will keep prices down.
