Are you kidding me? I've been a tax paying American my entire life and I dont qualify for any student loans or any financial assistance for college. Even had a CCSN employee in financial aid tell me I didnt qualify, but the alien hispanic male in the cubicle next to me was getting almost his entire education paid for. What is wrong here? I'm empathic to her situation of being put through a horrible ordeal with her husband, but that doesnt mean she should jump the line and get perks that I am being denied. This has to end somewhere.
I have lived in Vegas for 6 years. And in that time, whenever I see and hear an ambulance approaching an intersection...they do it at an expected slow pace. Drivers in Vegas I've noticed have no clue as to what is going on in their surroundings. Too busy talking on the phone, turning around messing with the kids in the back seat, putting on their make up, having the dog sit on their lap with their head out the window, not maintaining their own lanes, etc. I never wish any ill will on anyone, but this could have been prevented.
It would be nice to know that people will just take the time to spend with the kids, keep them interested and active in life and not just have babies because they are cute or trying to keep the boyfriend of the week with them a little longer or just making it easier for them not to work and letting the rest of us pay their way through life.
I dont care how long or short anyone's deployment is or was. I'm grateful to anyone who has been away from home and family to protect me and mine. This isn't a place to whine, lets just be thankful.
And if the suspect is white...then what will your complaint be? And what does that have to do with any of this anyway? Because he was shot? Setting your house on fire and shooting at ANYONE is pretty much a guarantee your gonna be on the losing end of that battle.
The only reason this gets such press is because a police officer happens to be a victim/involved and if it didnt get published the haters would be saying its a cover up. So either way Metro gets bashed again, saying that there is more to it. Maybe its just how it is....someone turned illegally in front of another vehicle. Happens all the time everyday. You all know it, you've seen it yourself and I'm sure some of you have even said.."Oh sure, where's a cop when you need them to catch this guy driving like an idiot.." I wish we could read about all the accidents involving impaired drivers and drivers in general who cause accidents who were in the wrong.
Back to you mikenyc.....IM NOT A COP! So your comment that I'm a liar and deserve no respect is mute. I'm not berating anyone. I'm trying to bring to light a few things that the general public is TOTALLY UNAWARE of what goes on during a day of an officer/first responder/firefighter. If you all seem to know so much and your NOT in one of those professions....then I invite you to request a sitalong/ridealong to see what really goes on. From the point of contact at a 911 center to sitting in a squad. You might just leave with a totally different opinion of those people. I guess I'm just tired of seeing mass media bashing on cops/911/firefighters. I never see any other professions get slammed so much.
Hey Ds Gentle Master,
You really just dont get it do you? You would be the FIRST person to complain that police didnt show up fast enough when you yourself would be in a similar situation. Would you want a cop NOW or when they could safely get there when some is beating you or your child up? Would you want a cop NOW or when they can dodge a vehicle driven by an impaired driver. Doesnt have to be legally drunk to be impaired. (4 drink in 1 hour is alot). Would you want a cop NOW or when a cop can safely get to you with sirens blaring making the crackhead guy who just kicked in your door and shot your 7yo old run away never to be located? Do you want a cop NOW or when they can get there when it convienent for all the other citizens in the area to finally move out of the way when your wife/husband has just kicked the crap out of you so bad your hanging on by a thread. But then your probably the type of person that thinks its the police depts fault for all these bad things to happen to you in the first place. Always passing the buck and putting the blame on someone else. Sounds like you got caught in the past doing something wrong and now it makes you feel better to whine and cry and bash anyone and everyone who represents the law. Arresting someone has NOTHING to do with a job review. Just like giving speeding tickets to meet a quota is bullcrap. Get a clue buddy. I sure would like to know what kind of work you do. I sure do know a lot of stupid, moronic, jackass: construction workers, food servers, car washers, gas station attendants, flight attendants, doctors, school teachers, casino workers, truck drivers, celebraties, IT, attorney, office assistants (I could go on and on here). So just hope I never show up to where you work and critique how you dont do your job perfect.
Hmmmm, let me guess. I'll be having to pay for all this too right through increased taxes? No cost to the offender who doesn't have insurance, no job but had no problems wrecking my car that I need to get to work? Breaking in to my home, causing damage that I now have to repair. Making me now pay any deductibles that then makes my rates go up? I'm really getting sick of the criminals pushing the blame on everyone else. YOU did it. The end. At times I wish our legal system was like some of the Arab states, you do a crime you run the risk of having an appendage cut off, or you sit in jail....they dont feed you. That is the responsiblity of your family to bring you food/clothing. That's my rant for the day.
