vegasGM85 - i can tell you that there have been lots of studies to compare drunk drivers with "high" drivers with "sober" drivers and the "high" drivers way out performed the drunk drivers while driving safer then the sober drivers. you said "both carry the same aftermath when people dont know how to act"... the problem is that so many people "dont know how to act" when they are sober or drunk or high. If weed is ever legalized i would be all for them having the same traffic laws applied to weed as alcohol. thats not a problem. the problem is that so many people out there are so misinformed about mary jane that they may never use common sense when talking about it. our society has been fed this bogus propaganda since birth that it's going to take time to re-educate people not only about weed but our entire government structure.

The difference with a poppy and marijuana is that you must process a poppy flower and actually make a drug out of it by using other chemicals with the poppy... a marijuana flower doesnt need to be chemicaly processed.

Also if we legalize this FLOWER then we wouldnt have the largest prison system in the world. Yes our prison system is larger than all other developed countries combined. The people using this FLOWER are NON-VIOLENT peaceful people(99% of them) that do not deserve to be treated like animals all because some people are so ignorant to the facts that they think these people would be better off in prison. ALCOHOL IS FAR WORSE!!! It's causes thousands of automobile deaths, liver disease and countless other problems meanwhile people who use this FLOWER are more relaxed, non-violent, less likely to develop certain cancers and the worst thing they do is eat a nice meal and get a good night sleep. Plus if we legalize this plant then we could save about $5 billion a year just on the money spent to house and feed people in prison because of this FLOWER. Then police departments can spend their time and our tax dollars on more important crimes(rape, murder, meth, heroine, cocaine, crack, drunk driving, etc...). Then on top of that the annual tax profits our country would get from this would range from $30 billion annually to $250 billion annually which could fund HEALTH CARE and EDUCATION!!! That way we could actually get our children properly educated and our people properly cared for. But as long as any RIGHT WING FASCIST REPUBLICAN or CORPORATE DEMOCRAT is in office this will never happen. WE MUST USE COMMON SENSE AND MAKE COMMON SENSE LAW'S. not laws that only benefit a few, those few that will never be happy with anything because they are just depressed, oppressed ignorant non thinking uneducated fools. To all of you misinformed individuals(most of you)... Marijuana is a FLOWER. It is the only flower that is considered a drug. The only reason it's still illegal is because of the many many industries that lobby against it. And why do they lobby against it??? Hmmmm.... maybe because it can be used for tons of different things not just as a drug to smoke. You can use it's oil in paint and also to fuel a car(i believe it was Ford that bought the patent for this in the early 1900's and never used it). The stalk can be used from everything from clothes to paper. If our government and the people would learn some common sense they would understand how beneficial this plant is but the big pharma industry along with many other industries have lobbied against weed for over a hundred years. It became illegal in (i believe) 1933 when a rascist senator stood up in front of the Senate and gave a 30 second speech on how weed makes black and hispanic men rape white women and then they unanimously voted to make it illegal. Go read the book "the emporer wears no clothes" and become informed of the history of this great plant and flower. The queen of England used this flower in almost all the foods she ate as it helped her with cramps. There is a ton of info in this book and for those that dont want to believe anything in the book, the second half of the book is all official government paperwork to back up everything in the book with all the information obtained with the use of the "freedom of information act". So please people learn the facts of this potentialy wonder flower, a FLOWER that could FINANCE a real economic recovery in this country.
