At the Bishop Gorman vs. Riordan game, I didn't see last year's team but in this game, they were certainly the better but not overwhelmingly dominant team I had hoped to see. Still, the Gaels won 13-0, scoring on a safety, a 32-yard field goal and a TD with a 2-point conversion. The defense was clearly better than Riordan and that was the difference. Both teams had turnovers that contributed to the low-scoring. About fifty BG fans were in attendance. The temperature was around 78 degrees today (a heatwave in San Francisco). Hope you all had fun here.
These may not be "last year's Gaels" but Riordan is horrible! Don't let their record fool you. One win was a forfeit, another just plain luck and the CCS Medium division was weak.
In their pass-happy offense, it seemed nobody ever heard of a blitz. With their "skill" players gone, and a less than impressive bunch moving up to the varsity, not to mention the fact that Bishop Gorman has two games under its belt, this will be at least a 30-point rout.
Also, it's expected to be a hot day in San Francisco, so the Gaels should feel at home with the heat. My prediction is 36-6 Gaels.
