Wishful thinking on Obama's part. She ain't gonna lose and Obama will then be President of the Senate just like his cousin. The repukes make a big deal out of his middle name, when they should be looking farther up the family tree. Does this mean Dick, and they don't call him that because of his name, has Muslims for relatives?

They lied! Gordon was supposed to take out BOTH of the lead cars.

Note the operative word is "bear" not "shoot."

No person should be allowed to possess an operative weapon except in their official capacity as a member of the militia (military or law enforcement).

In my nonage I learned the basic three "R's" at school; and at home, the fundamental three"R's:" Rights, Responsibility, and Respect. In my dotage I still stand when a lady enters the room, when the National Anthem is played, and when Our Flag is passing. I stand, not because I have the right not to, but because I have a responsibility to and a respect for my fellow citizens and Our Country. Those, like Smith and his parents, who ignore the other "R's" to insist upon their Rights may soon find they all are mutually inclusive. Without education, personal responsibility, and mutual respect there will be no Rights. I say Stand up; stand up for your rights or stay seated without them.

From time to time over the years we Americans have characterized our Presidents with some particular word or deed associated uniquely to each of them. From George Washington's "I cannot tell a lie" to Abe Lincoln's Emancipation Proclamation; from Teddy Roosevelt's charge up San Juan Hill to Warren Harding's Teapot Dome; from Harry Truman's "The buck stops here" to Dick Nixon's "I am not a crook;" from John Kennedy's Bay of Pigs to Ronnie Reagan's Ollie Iran-Contra North; from Bill Clinton's blue dress to DUHbya Bush's pet goat.

One thing for certain that will not make the list is the ideological love affair of John McCain and Jane Fonda. John, the hero of the Hawks, and, Jane, the heroine of the Hippies, have hassled for years over the Happenings in Hanoi. Yesterday, Wednesday, February 6, 2008, John McCain finally admitted defeat and surrendered to his senility any integrity he had left. Ninetynine of our one hundred Senators held the courage of their convictions (although 41 should be convicted) and voted their feelings on the Economic Stimulus bill. John McCain purposely refused to vote after he had repeatedly promised to support the bill. McCain did not emulate Washington and tell the truth, did he follow Nixon's example of proclaiming his innocence, nor did he have Harry's backbone. He simply followed his inept, incompetent leader's example: he hid his head in the metaphorical sand and read his own version of his pet goat.

In spite of the spineless act of our Senior Senator I am still happy to live in Arizona. However, I suspect John would be happier if he could return with Jane to the Hanoi Hilton where he would only be required to lie about his name (Mud), rank (The rankest), and serial number (Number One traitor).

Katy,

Another eight years of President Clinton (Mrs. or Mr.) would be a world of improvement over the illegal reign of King George the Dumb and the Right-Wing Nuts.

Now is the time for Hillary and Barrack to join forces and apply the coup de grace and coup d'etat to Bushco and Sycophants Limited (in intelligence anyway). We will have a Democratic landslide in November with a Clinton/Obama ticket. That will be a total win-win situation. I will rest contented knowing that there will not be another Rethug as President during my lifetime.

nurseratchet,

You have just made my point! The fact that the premises were rented has nothing to do with the situation. The rental contract contained language precluding the posting of signs and requiring the clean-up after the meeting. The contract was breeched by some guilty party. The fact that someone volunteers for something does not releive him/her from the responsibility of their actions. I wish it were so because I would be the first to volunteer to shoot all the irresponsible fools that left the mess.

This whole thing is indicative of the major problem facing this Country today and it has nothing to do with politcs. The problem is the widespread lack of personal responsibility.

To wit:

1) The caucus attendees should never have posted the signs. "They are our signs and we will post them where ever we want because we have our rights."

2) The Precinct Captain should have ordered the signs taken down and the mess cleaned up before any one left the school. "It's not my job, Man. Those other guys left the mess and I ain't gonna clean up their shift. When I told them they flipped me off and left."

3) The Principal should have filed Criminal charges and kept his mouth shut. "But I wanted to get my name in the paper and I didn't want to get them mad at me."

4) The Clinton people should not have argued but simply have sent someone to clean up the mess, apologized to the Principal, and bought a pizza lunch for all the students. "I didn't do it, Man. Those darn Republicans snuck in after we left the palce clean and made the mess."

5) The darn Republicans should have admitted to sneaking in after the Democrats left and simply have sent someone to clean up the mess, apologized to the Principal, and bought a pizza lunch for all the students. "Hey, nobody saw us do it, bedsides those darned Democrats deserve everything they get 'cause they use dirty politics then lie about it and we don't lie as much as they do."

6) The Las Vegas Sun should have told them all to grow up or go pound sand.
