Daftchemicals is daft (annd probably on chemicals). Tasers cannot be adjusted. The 50K volts is needed to jump the air gap, that is why when the barbs just stick into clothes, they still shock. The jolt will jump a total of 1 inch air gap. Each probe can be one-half inch from skin and still zap the perp. Actual voltage delivered is 1200 volts at .0002 amps, and amps is what hurts.
Many Officers want to be Tasered during training but now it is not permitted. Just another example where a few miscreants spoil it for all. Some with previous injuries will always look for something else to blame it on (work related workman's comp). There must be a legal, signed waiver that could satisfy all.
Taser Saves Lives Every day! The UK just announced adding 10,000 Tasers immediately to stem the tide of violent crime. One last chance to avoid arming all UK law enforcement with real guns that shoot real bullets and kill real dead. Less lethal is better than center of mass dead any day!

SO THEY WERE HURT IN 2003 and 5 years later they file suit? I bet these suits have more to do with underemployed blood-sucking personal injury trial lawyers needing work, and mining the masses. Won't cost the plaintiffs anything, so why not?
