So what would the equipment cost to sell gasoline based on temperature? It would no doubt add up to more than the 1.7% cost inflation due to temperature increase. The gas companies will pass on this cost to us and we will be worse off for it in the end. Not to mention the additional lawyer fees that jfnance mentioned. Get a grip people!
Another point this story failed to touch on is this; what about those days that the temperature is below 60? Those days people get a break on gas by getting more than a gallon. The yearly average temperature for Las Vegas is 67. Only a lawyer would want to fight over those kind of scraps.
If people are that concerned about it, simply fill up in the mornings when temperatures are lower.
