Instead of asking for so much at the first of the year they should send out a 'whats needed' list each month so that the techers really get what they need. My kids teachers always end up with rolls and rolls of paper towles and zipper bags yet dont have enough tissues, erasers or copy paper. I would rather buy what the teacher needs then some arbatrary list someone has typed up.
We need to step it up folks. Apathy is how democracy dies. If you want a say VOTE. If you want to complain VOTE. If you want better decisions made for our community VOTE. If you want more school funding VOTE. It’s up to us the citizens. Don’t give that power away….. Embrace it! Cherish it!
This dress issue has been discuss among the parents for years. Young female teachers showing too much clevage...too much midrif... too much SKIN period. Do they relize that they are bending over and leaning down so that kids can see down their shirts everyday??? If we have young kids that are wearing uniforms why do we have teachers that dress inappropriately day in and day out? Don't they have a boss who should be telling them - "Thats not appropriate"??
While I agree that Judge Halverson should not be on the bench I feel it is very ignorant to comment on her weight, sighting it as a reason she should not or could not serve. Plus size or heavy people can be just as qualified as skinny people. It's the education, motivation, ability and ethics of a person that count, not the size of the person. Lets worry about what really matters and not drag the discussion down to the level of crude and incompetent.

Per Pupil funding must increase just as all things do. You can not get a gallon of gas for $.99 like you could in 1989 so why does anyone think that the cost of educating a child does not rise either. I would also hope that a teaecher making $6-9 thousand dollars in the 1960's is making more money in 2009 - 40+ years latter.
If we want the students in the US to compeate/compaire with other nations we must provide them quality tools - ie computers, and quality staff to teach them how to use those tools. Throwing money at every situation does not just by the act make anything better. BUT - If you want students educated to compeate in the wolrd class market place you must have world class teachers who teach them in a world class settings. SMALLER CLASSS SIZES - SMALLER SCHOOL ENVIRONMENTS - MORE TECHNOLOGY - These are all things that WILL improve student achievment and produce better US citizens that can compeate in the golbal market.
School should be funded as a socail nessesity - Like Police or Fire. Those who work in those fields are trained professionals who dedicate their lives to serving others. Teacher may not always have life or death situations to deal with but they are helping to mold the minds of the leaders of tomorrow. Their task is just as vital to our community.
Lets put funding education in it proper place!
