Who woke Bob List up? Oh yeah, this time its the RNC who is prepared to pay him to talk. Months ago the pro-nuke, pro-screw Nevada forces paid him to say that the Nuke Dump was the greatest thing since sliced bread. He shut up after a few days-the money must have run out.
The only time Bob List has something to say is when someone from the political right is paying him to say it.
"This is a clear abuse of power that Nevadans are not going to tolerate."
Riiiight, Bob. Is that fat wad of cash the RNC gave you abusing the seams of your wallet to the point where it can no longer tollerate it? Who will rent your mouth next, Wal-Mart?
I am so, so sorry for what has happened. I feel horrible for his family and friends. My support and hopes go out to the men and women of NLVPD and LVMPD. Its terrible to have to investigate the death of a brother or have to bury him. If the article in the Yakima Herald is correct, this officer was an amazing fellow long before he donned the LVMPD uniform. I'm glad we had the opportunity to benefit from his service-I only wish it ended very, very differently.
With the budget as poor as it is, whoever the university interviews for a position will have to agree to take a massively reduced salary compared to their peers-Nevada taxpayers will not stand for another John Robinson-like, or even Mike Sanford-like, salary.
The administration will have to look for someone who wants to be here for a great challenge, not a great paysheck.
BTW, the same guiding rule goes for those who want to be A.D.
With reductions in staff and faculty that are mandated because of state lawmakers' willingness to sacrifice public education due to the budget deficit, it will be interesting to see who will greet these new scholars when they arrive, wide-eyed, to receive Nevada Higher Education.
Please note that in the same edition of this paper there is a story that tax hikes are less likey and additional furloughs of state workers are more likely and realize that this state is trying to have it both ways with education when it simply cannot. We must either fund education, which includes retaining state workers and faculty at those institutions and not furloughing them, or we do not move forward to introduce more students into a system that is being reduced by the politicians. You do not bring more students in when there are less teachers and staff to teach and serve them.
