I said it before, Teatards only believe in electoral democracy when they win, otherwise they want armed insurrection to get themselves into power. Notice no one was calling for overthrowing the government by armed citizens when Republicans were in power.

"But this is about ME and what I want and how I'M going to get my way!!!" Basically, Teatards are indistinguishable from preschoolers.

Unfortunately, inhabitants of the political Narnia/cerebral void that is Teabagistan will never get it.

More people on a ballot is not some liberal dirty trick, it's the entire schism of democracy. If you oppose Ashijan because you're paranoid he'll take votes from Angle, then you cannot say that Angle deserves to be on the ballot either, without being intellectually dishonest; she's taking away votes from Reid -- but it isn't taking it away, because you cannot have stolen from you that which you have not earned.

Why is it not surprising that Nevada Republicans are all for someone's right to candidacy, but if they stand to lose (or just not benefit), then all of a sudden they cry foul?

You believe in electoral democracy or you don't.

There is no "but" or "except" just because things don't go your way.

How can MORE ballot choices lead to less fairness? The "but he can't win" argument is at best, intellectually dishonest and at worst, a total abandonment of democracy. Of course he can't win if he's not on the ballot. But think about this: third party candidates that get at least 5% of the vote will qualify on equal footing as the Democratic and Republican parties, will be included in debates, etc. It WIDENS electoral choices. Minnesota regularly elects third party candidates because of the fact that several parties now have "major party" status on the ballot.

But then again, only at a Mad Hatter's Tea Party does it make sense for more democracy to be unfair and sees it as perfectly logical that the more you suppress voter choices, the fairer it is. I wonder where all these Teatards were when long-shot Angle was on the primary election ballot with the candidates everybody expected to win?

I'm sure when the "Anybody But Reid" crowd came up with their slogan, they totally did not have Sharron Angle in mind.

It's like the girl who got dumped for her boyfriend and claims she'll sleep with the next man she sees. But then a bumbling, incoherent social leper approaches her, and she pauses for a moment before deciding she's not THAT desperate.

So instead of having an electable Republican in Reid's seat, voters would rather stick with Reid. It almost makes you wonder if Democrats sabotaged the Republican primary by making sure they don't stand a chance this November.

At least they'll know they did their best to ensure Reid's seat for another 6 years by running Angle.

You've got to be the best tool for Democrats that you can be.

@skerlahdee
"You just wait for Mama Grizzly. HaHahahahahhahahahahahhahahahahhahahhaha!"

To do what? For her to write on her facebook wall because no reputable news publication can talk to her without trying to hold back from laughing in her face?

Yeah, okay. Tell me when Mama Grizzly updates her facebook page. I'll be shivering in my boots.

Or maybe it should MAngle that's worried since Palin tanked the last two candidates she endorsed, losing votes and leads when Palin made public endorsements of them. See Fiorina, Ayotte, and Cece Heil.

@gbigs
"Angle is a christian. Reid is a MORMON.
Mormons think Jesus Christ came to America to charge up the indians.
Mormons think the Angel Maroni is special.
Why does Reid run from his faith?"

LOL

LMAO

ROTFL

Is that really the best you can come up with, some logical leap of faith that requires the vast stretch of all your mental horsepower?

You might as well ask, why Reid loves Joseph Stalin because they both have gray hair.

You make the case that the Jim Crow tests should be applied to EVERYONE before they can vote, to make sure you have the minimal mental capacity to understand what policies you're even voting for or where you are and what's happening. It's too bad GED courses don't include test critical reasoning skills.

@Zumabound
"As a consequence, trying to talk to them rationally is like trying to talk to the Mad Hatter or an eight year-old with ADHD. You can't show them enough facts or argue logically enough to ever get them to understand the error of their ways or views, because they're simply aren't coming from a rational place."

Oh, I know. I've ceased taking the initiative at any sort of coherent conversation with them. I tried, I really did. In another Sun article here ("Think About What's at Stake in November"), I clearly and patiently rebutted every single teamonic claim of theirs, and 50 comments later, not a single one would respond. They just clap their hands over their ears and sing "Lalala, not listeniiiing!"

They're so committed to their contradictory, incoherent theories that they HATE hearing about it because it just sounds stupid when said out loud or when misspelled on a fellow teatard's protest sign, but makes perfect sense in the padded cell of their cranial space where they don't have to "explain," or "justify," or "talk about" their outrageous claims. If you question why their illogical garble doesn't add up, you're probably a socialist traitor or open-border treasonist who wants to sabotage America.

How do even begin talking rationally with someone who claims Obama was born in Kenya, rejects Obama's notarized birth certificate, claims the governments of Kenya and Hawaii conspired to defraud America, and then asks you to PROVE THAT'S NOT WHAT HAPPENED? Even if the birth certificate can be carbon-dated to prove it originated 49 years ago, it would only prove to them it was forged in 1961, and is probably evidence of Obama's diabolical superpowers, even as a newborn! Now just try to prove that didn't happen or else they're sticking to it.

How do you even begin refuting someone that claims the stockmarket crashing a record 1,874 points over 4 days in October 2008 is Obama's fault, and asks you to prove that the event which happened before he was even elected is in fact, not Obama's fault?

How do you even begin reasoning with someone who claims Obama used covert hypnosis to orchestrate the war in Afghanistan 8 years ago and somehow managed to pin it on Bush/Cheney?

How do you even begin debating someone who claims the bank bailout is proof that Obama is an economy-ruining socialist, when the bailout was actually authorized October 3, 2008 and signed by President Bush?

How do you talk to someone that looks at Lehman's 2008 bankruptcy of $613 BILLION, which is the single largest in US history, doesn't recognize it as a failure of predatory, unregulated capitalism but rather, concludes it must somehow be Obama's fault even though a "socialist agenda" would've prevented it? It's like claiming violent crimes are all the fault of police and proves we need to get rid of the police.

You can't. All we can do is point and laugh in November when there's lots of tears before bedtime because "I had a tea party and nobody came."

"If Angle doesn't win, she will lead a armed group who will seize power in Nevada and form our own Republic. She will be exercising her 2nd Amendment rights."

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE LET THIS HAPPEN. I'm from South Dakota, our unemployment rate is only 4.3% and (and last year at its highest in June 2009 was only 4.8%), why should people in MY state give any federal dollars to Nevada? The federal government gave $469.8 billion to the states last year. I say, if Angle loses and Nevada really doesn't want to play anymore, those who voted for Reid can move to one half and remain a state, and everyone who voted for Angle, let's withhold Nevada's $9 billion in state aid from the secessionists and let them figure it out themselves. And since Nevada has no income tax but the feds tax casinos, Vegas stays a part of the US.

I don't think you have any idea how impossible it would be to make roads, schools, or hospitals without federal aid. Good luck forming your own corporations and good luck trying to prevent those corporations from using your backyard as a toxic dumping ground without federal agencies like the EPA.

If you're stupid enough to do it, I think you're under-estimating how willing the rest of America is to let you go. Don't pretend to be that angsty teen who threatens to run away for attention but never actually does, you should definitely follow through! Arizonans even called for seceding, but Jan Brewer made it clear that will not happen - the state simply cannot afford to exist outside of the union. Go ahead and secede. It's like that saying, if you love something, let it go - if you're lucky, it WON'T come back. :D

"Covert hypnosis"?

Dare I say it, Teatards have finally found the Achilles' heel of the Obama administration: AMENTIA.

With the perspicacity and IQ to understand some of the most complex economic issues of annualized GDP growth, the education and intelligence to teach constitutional law to aspiring attorneys, and the patience and tolerance to compromise with Congressional Republicans where he could, the Rightwing has found the one area Obama had no sword with which to pierce them with: mental teatardation.

He can disprove their outrageous claims with facts, he can point to GM and Chrysler now trending to outpace foreign manufacterers despite Teatards bemoaning a year ago that his auto industry "Marxism" would fail, he can compromise with Republicans with Congress on the healthcare reform, but the one thing that he cannot go on the offensive with is stupid wingnuts.

Intelligence, leadership, and tolerance are no match for unadulterated stupidity. He can show rabid birthers his birth certificate and published birth announcement (SOURCE: http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/201...), he can make Republicans regret the time they claimed his auto industry stimulus would be the end of capitalism (SOURCE: http://www.washingtonmonthly.com/archive...), but viciously accuse him of using diabolical, evil superpowers of "covert hypnosis" and the president might finally be too dumbfounded.

It's like trying to have a logical conversation in a political Narnia or at the Mad Hatter's table:
TEATARD: Obama taxes us to death, wants to tax us even more, and we won't stand for it!!
SANE PERSON: But everyone making under $200,000 a year (or $250,000 per household), which is 90-95% of Americans, won't pay any more, and Americans are paying less taxes than they did 30, 40, or 50 years ago.
TEATARD: Exactly what I was saying, Afghanistan is Obama's war!!!
SANE PERSON: But didn't Bush and Cheney initiate the offensive in Afghanistan? But back to taxes...
TEATARD: What are you, an open-border liberal? Illegal is illegal! RAWRRRRRRRRR!
SANE PERSON: No, I support securing the border--
TEATARD: DON'T TREAD ON MY SPIRIT TURTLE!!!
SANE PERSON: Whoa, whoa, calm down now.
TEATARD: I am calm. I'm calm. I'm cool. I'm casual. I'm breezy and peaceful as a cucumber. All I'm asking is to see for him to show us his birth certificate. That's all we've been asking for, just one simple little thing.
SANE PERSON: But he did show it to you.
TEATARD: I knew it, that's why he should be impeached!
SANE PERSON: What?
TEATARD: I told you so, it's all a hypnotic illusion. Checkmate, my friend, checkmate.

Luckily for Republicans, stupidity is an unlimited natural resource in the party. Throngs of knuckle-dragging, fact-phobic idiots have finally found their shield in a back-and-forth dance of incoherent trickery and logical hide-and-seek.

Feel free to repost :)

Let's take a look at these diabolical FACTS behind the claim that Obama Ruined the Economy Even Though He Took Office 4 Months After the Stockmarket Crash:

The first week of October 2008 (also known as Black Week), Dow fell 1,874.19 points (18.2%).
The first week of October 2008 (Black Week), S&P 500 fell 20%.
SOURCE: http://money.cnn.com/2008/10/12/markets/...
Lots of cute labels for economic disaster were coined, like Bloody Monday, Freefall Friday, etc.

The Liberal Agenda cleverly disguised as Capitalist Enterprise that started it all:
The trigger was the largest bankruptcy in U.S. history, of $613 BILLION filed by Lehman on September 15 2008.
SOURCE: http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=n...
Bankruptcy fees alone are already $750 million for this single bankruptcy; it was an amount so huge that the adminstrative and regulatory fees for this exceeds what most of us could ever earn in a lifetime, soon to be one billion. SOURCES: http://www.law.com/jsp/article.jsp?id=12... and http://online.wsj.com/article/NA_WSJ_PUB...

Complect intermediary banks then buckled as well and collapsed the financial system on a global scale. Let's look at the economic significance of how many banks failed thanks to Obama's "socialist agenda" wizardry that he so cleverly devised 4 months before taking office:
2008: 26 BANKS FAILED, accounting for $373 Billion dollars (give or take $578 Million).
2009: 140 BANKS FAILED, accounting for $163 Billion (give or take $755 Million)
2010: 108 BANKS FAILED, accounting for $79 Billion

So, the biggest banks with the highest systemic risk failed first in 2008, taking down smaller banks that were dependent on the failed banks.
Please feel free to verify the banks filings for yourself: http://www.fdic.gov/bank/individual/fail...

And the coup de grace of Obama's Bank Bailout: TARP was actually signed into law October 3, 2008 by George W. Bush. The plain truth is staring us in the face, but we liberals (and the mainstream media) refuse to see that Obama used his unholy powers of mind control on Bush, which apparently you can be immune from if you buy a Palin 2012 sticker.

@VidiVeritas: "The radical extremist so-called republican candidates are running aginst the miserable failure record of cheney/bush and are blaming the Democrats and President Obama for the economic mess they created.
In Psychology that is called projection-blaming someone else for you own mistakes"

Don't try to confuse them with facts about the stock market crash that happened in September and October 2008 (it was still somehow part of Obama's liberal agenda!), you may have gone to collej and you might have a library card, but you are no match for the intellectual force that are the Teatards. No mountain of articles detailing the exact dates of the stock market implosion, no evidence that's not from Glenn Beck's mouth, no panel of economists (even ones that were on McCain's 2008 campaign payroll), will ever be enough to convince them.

Teatards aren't dissuaded by things like facts or logic! You could assemble a panel of conservative economic experts like Mark Zindi, Alan Blinder, and Alan Greenspan and the only thing that would do is prove how evil the Left really is because it somehow managed to lure 3 conservative experts to the Dark Side.

They then play a game of logical hide-and-seek and challenge "librul loonies" and the lamestream media to PROVE THAT THE RECESSION'S MARKET CRASH 4 MONTHS BEFORE HE BECAME PRESIDENT IS NOT OBAMA'S FAULT. It's much like the Birther premise: jump to massive conclusions, reject the notorized pieced of paper that Obama CLAIMS is his birth certificate, assert again he was born in Kenya and that Kenya and Hawaii committed fraud for him knowing 48 years later this infant might be president, and then turn around and ask for proof this didn't happen.

The thing about playing Logical Taboo where Teatards are trying to win by avoiding the forbidden TABOO facts, is that lacking information and facts is actually how one WINS the game. So being fact-phobic, easily confused, and unable to understand why there's mounting evidence to the contrary, is actually an intellectual home run to them. If these Healthcare Queens can defy logic and use the phrase "Dictator Obama," that's hit a grand slam out of the ballpark. Everything else is a foul ball.
