I am a big fan of the Southpoint Hotel and Casino. That's where I usually stay for a major share of my time during my vacation. And it's not only because of the nice swimming pool or the funbook that contains a lunch voucher, but also because of the terrific variety of games. I noticed, however, that the best videopoker game I found was NSUDW (99.7 and some percent). This, plus the comp points, makes it a good play sometimes, but not a very good game.
The other interesting machines are the progressive deuces wild banks and the major jackpot system at the bar. However, you have to think it through. If you play on a progressive carussel with more or less 80 machines, then it's very hard to be the one that hits the Royal. Therefore, the center progressive bank is mainly something big for the house as so much money is being won while the people start chasing the Royal and only one single person will hit it. I really like the Southpoint, but I don't see why they should have such good videopoker. Am I missing something here?

jcorb, i thought all rooms are remodeled....
I pay 59 dollars for a newly remodele room. because of the extra low dollar conversion it's worth the little surcharge, but of course only if they indeed give me a new room. I don't want to stay in a stinky place with bedbugs....however, I am sure they give away all but newly remodelled rooms...

I am very much looking forward seing the "new" old Plaza after remodeling. I have set my reservation in place and will spend 1 full day just at the Plaza in a few weeks. The little surcharge compared to other downtown hotels will probably make up for it. So much talk about this project that I am sure it will be packed for the first few months....

When I was in Vegas last time, there was a blowout sale of electronic items, such as I-phones, Ipods, Cell-phones, Blue Ray Players, Headsets, etc etc. The entire show was publicly anounced by radio commercials etc, ...up to 70 per cent off retail price etc...... "Wow", that's what I thought, and marked the event in my calendar. The sale was scheduled at a conference hall at the Tropicana on a given Saturday.
Well, I went there , walked through the casino until I finally found the place, but the same thing....10 dollars admission fee!!!!! What the duck!!!! I am not going to pay to get into a store to spend my money. I walked away and never returned to the Tropicana since.

What are the down-times of the Desperado roller-coaster? This has always been my main interest of visiting this property, along with the shopping outlet adjacent to the sister property (Terrible's).
When I visit this casino in April hopefully the rollercoaster will be in full operation.
