You mean solar energy will cost more than the war in Iraq? hmm.
Think about it.
In 2001 you could stand on the northernmost outskirts of Las Vegas and see crystal clear to the mountains in the south. By this past summer I could barely see the downtown skyscrapers through the brown fog of pollution, let alone the mountains.
Las Vegas has the best solar energy in the nation, but rarely do you see a solar dish or panels anywhere. It is surrounded by mountains that are perfect for wind farming. But not one windmill is in sight.
And still they build with black tar roofs, parking lots and roads, creating a hellish heat sink that does not allow for natural cooling at night and is then exacerbated by the use of thousands of air conditioners - expelling even more heat. If it continues this way Las Vegas will be uninhabitable.
Close your eyes and imagine:
You are an attractive, educated male. You are on a date - with a girlfriend, your wife or newly met person. As you drive down the road one billboard after another appears- you can't avoid seeing them.
On the billboards are full color, larger than life, half naked impossibly handsome, airbrushed images of young men; mens muscular bare rear ends, chests, other parts -barely covered- all inviting your woman to partake in her choice of these HOT BODIES.
Then you walk down the strip - even there on truck billboards are the same sorts of images - all inviting your woman to get down with the hottest men on earth.
Now how long would you stay in Las Vegas?

I agree with both of the above. Having been on the inside of the Palms 'Trashy Lingerie Parties' I'll give you a couple of insider tips - the women generally, truly dislike and look down on the men there.
They are there because they are paid to be there, and most of them are shipped in from out of state modeling agencies that specialize in 'Boobie Girls' - most of these models spend time in the bathroom complaining about how much their plastic surgeon is charging them and horrendously criticizing the men in the party audience.
Most of the other women in the audience are hookers who are told they can't pick up johns DURING the show but no one cares what they do outside the venue.
