I'd like to see our public access community television station allow all the candidates to air informational programs stating their positions on local issues. It certainly has happened in the past and seems only to be an issue now. Anyone remember the city putting out a mailer refuting item by item all of Bill Smiths concerns about the financial position of BCGC just a few weeks before the election? It turned out the Mr. Smiths projections were correct and city's portrayal of the financial health of the golf course was completely false. At that time, the city attorney defended the mailer as simply informational when it was clear that it was a direct attempt to bolster Bob Ferrarro's mayoral bid.
Missing in ZeddyBear and apdp's comments are any defense of the term limit initiative. A juvenile attack of Mr. Greenspun does little to explain their support of term limits. I for one don't agree with the concept of term limits as I feel that any qualified candidate should be able to run regardless of the length of their prior service, why should my choices be limited?
The recall proponents should be relieved by the Secretary of State's ruling, it gives them a perfect way to explain their inability to gather the required signatures.
It's hard for a business to provide free internet access to a patron that takes up a table for 3 or 4 hours after a $4.00 purchase.
Oh no, a comment about my sister and my mother with Pahrump thrown in for good measure, you cut to the heart "God" You have certainly put me in my place and demonstrated to all, the superior wit of a "highly degreed scientist" I'm in awe!

....ah, yeah, right.
