Not only should Sgt. Seekatz have been fired, he should have been criminally prosecuted. I wonder if this video ever made it to the DA's office. Oh, wait -- former DA David Roger now works for the police union. Unlikely the former DA would have done anything anyway. How about the Henderson City Attorney? No chance; she might have been unavailable, drinking on the job, and never saw it either. The new City Attorney, Senator Reid's son, certainly won't take any action. After all, the mayor is too-closely tied to Sen. Reid.
As a Henderson resident, I find that the levels of wrongdoing, nepotism, and corruption are truly mind-numbing. To think that Sgt. Seekatz is still out there on the streets, and presumably supervises other officers, is frightening.
Steve Sisolak is one of very few local politicians that seem to above reproach, have uncompromisable integrity, and are willing to stand up to bullies. He obviously made a poor choice in a girlfriend. Sadly, it took five years for her true self to manifest itself to the point where he said no more. Now she drags him into her messes. Ms. Vermillion appears to me to be a parasite who is angry that she couldn't wheedle more out of Mr. Sisolak. Sad situation for Mr. Sisolak. I hope he emerges relatively unscathed, and this gold digger gets nothing but a prison sentence if in fact she stole form the charity.
Prosecutors generally want stupid people on juries. It is likely the prosecutor thought the professor is intelligent, therefore should be excluded.
An idiotic waste of money. These have been tried in Reno and Sparks, and appeared to be a failure there. The signals in place are perfectly fine, and understood except by the stupidest of drivers. I can't imagine how anyone so stupid as to not understand the present signals is going to understand a flashing yellow arrow. Such a person should not even be on the road.
Regardless of the other issue involved, an employee who "usually takes two or three days off a month" needs to be fired.
As a Henderson resident, I am embarrassed by these lights. The light is noticeably less bright than normal streetlights, reducing the safety that normal lights provide. The relatively petty amount of savings will not make up for the increased accidents and crime that will fester under these lousy lights. The lights appear blue, not white.
It is easy to distinguish Henderson from Las Vegas from the air at night, as one can plainly see the inferior lights contrasted by the normal lights. Shame on the Henderson City Council for having done this to us, and shame on the Las Vegas City Council for doing it as well.
Las Vegas city residents, stand up and protest this poorly thought-out action by your City Council before these lousy lights come to your neighborhood.
I think President Obama's approval rating will go up significantly if he finds a solution, ignoring the pompous windbags in Congress. I find it sickening that these Congress critters have wasted so much time and taxpayer money on these phony discussions with all the bullying and posturing. Two reasonable people could have resolved the issues in a few hours. It wouldn't surprise me if a deal was reached weeks ago, and all this is for publicity and theater. Ridiculous.
A perfect verdict. The jury understood the evidence, or lack thereof. All charges above lying to the police were fabrications, speculation and innuendo. If there was ever reasonable doubt in a case, this was it. Good for this jury having the strength and intestinal fortitude to go against the lynch mob mentality of the prosecutors and talking heads.
I hope Ms. Anthony will be able to get the psychological help she so desperately needs, and is able to turn her life around and become a productive member of society.
When can ANY police department anywhere "guarantee their safety?" Ridiculous.
