We know McCain is "for" Yucca Mountain as a dump site--although he admits he would not like to see the waste come through Phoenix. It is okay to come through Nevada. And he is so irrelevant of this concern it is "blah, blah, blah to him. This we know.
This is about representation and leadership. Obama has spoken against Yucca Mountain. Addressing the concerns of Nevadans with respect says more in Obama's favor than McCain's "blah, blah, blah". But, then McCain is the same candidate that addressed the crowd as "My fellow prisoners..." That certainly should make us feel warm and cozy about the lock down of our future, too. Sheesh.

Instead of healthy food for thought, the McCain/Palin campaign chose to feed salivating right wingers with swiftboats laden with rancid meat. Suggestions of terrorist connections and Ayers, fear-mongering, and thinly veiled racism are served up regularly. This repast of lies, anger, fear and bigotry is unpalatable to most Americans--when they get a whiff of the facts. For these people, filled with chosen tidbits spewed out as facts, it is real, unfortunately. Violence, as a reaction to fear or frustration, is common. The stench that permeates the political air from the GOP campaign might gag us, but the realization of how cancerous this tactic can be is obvious in this clip following Palin's rally. We are aghast at the hungry beast this campaign unleashed, but Instead of adopting complacency because of Obama/Biden's strong showing in the poll, this clip should make us even more aware of the need to vote in this election.
You can bet the angry, fearful folks on that video will.

Bravo, Las Vegas Sun! Well Done!
We do not need America ran in the same erratic, negative, and misleading way we have witnessed McCain/Palin run their campaign. McCain/Palin is a campaign of lies and hate and fear mongering; it has shown a campaign of angry, tortured rhetoric, and racial posturing. What a sad commentary to watch.
This is a time to vote for the future, to unite, to hold up our heads again, to hope and remember who we are as Americans, to say, "Yes, We Can! It is a time to create jobs and work to upgrade our infrastructure, to formulate a health plan that includes every one, to improve education that allows our youth to be competitive as global citizens. These are only a few of the things that Obama proposes with steady determination and responsible and focused leadership.
It is a time to rebuild America, to take care of our public lands, to look again at Yucca Mountain, and to prevent making Nevada a toxic dumping ground.
Obama offers this leadership. It is a time to move forward into the 21st century as one people. Obama offers that hope.
Every endorsement DOES matter. What will matter the most, however, is to vote. Every person is needed to make the change. Please Vote.

Your dead dog Fred won't show up at the polls, and if you bring a stuffed Fred, we won't be able to vote. So you point would be?

After all the hype from the left and then from the right plays out, there is a critical point many seem to be missing here. ACORN or other groups do not vote for the people; they only register them. The central question is not about left or right wingers; it is about all of our freedom. When you restrict one, you restrict every one's freedom. What remains in the center is this: By what right did the "authorities" raid the ACORN office and seize computers and data?

That organization is working within the parameters of our democracy. They are by law required to turn in all cards of those registering to vote through them. The organization "flagged" registrations they considered dubious. All registrations are checked by the election officials. Be honest, this seizure was politically motivated. This is a coup d'etat by the authorities of the State of Nevada. It is fueled by Republicans who fear others might vote against their wishes. This practice, if left unchallenged, threatens all of us. It is a blemish and a shame to all citizens who believe everyone should have a vote. Whether you are cheering on the left or groaning on the right doesn't matter. What matters is if this action will go unchecked to usurp all of our freedom.

This does seem to many like a Republican stunt to discredit ACORN and bring into question votes. The law IS that all registering to vote MUST be turned into the election committee. The law is that even registration that might be fraudulent, for example Dallas Cowboy team names, by LAW would also be turned into the election office. ACORN has said it is their practice to flag these types of registrations. What I would like to see is a story of who first actually "flagged" these so called irregularities?

The pressure is on the GOP in the swing states and goose stepping methods at work to disenfranchise voters. The timing of this "raid" follows the closing of registration for voters. The question is will Nevadans allow to happen what we saw in Florida and other swing states 2000 and 2004?

Oh, you did hit the proverbial nail with Palin. Let's face it for most of us the McCain campaign is using terrorist and fear tactics every time we see Palin speak. It is Palin. Even the most conservative have to be aware of a bone chilling shudder of fear when they step back and look at Palin and what she represents.
