Stevem is right..we lived in Vegas 98'-04' have been back just once since then, OMG....what a total mess...we won't be back..in fact, Vegas actaully reminds me of LA, now...looks like the Hispanics have taken over, that town, too.While I do not have anything against Hispanics, per say..but, lets put it this way, if I wanted to see Mexico, I would visit Mexico..this is sooo sad...
Agree with you totally eviron...we really miss what Vegas used to be..its really sad what the big shots have done. Back to the basics..and it would turn around, but then what the h#*% would they do with all those buildings??? Too, bad they just coulden't emplode those...like they did all of the nostalgic casinos of the past..they were the best!!! And yes, then they could well afford to loosen their slots, offer comps, ect...it would be wonderful, woulden't it???
I gotta tell you...I am so glad we moved out of Vegas a few yrs ago. When we left it was obvious that the problems with the hispanics were going to be so big that it would ruin that wonderful town. I read the RJ & Sun everyday, and its just so sad. I just can't believe what is happening there!!
Hope that those 12,000 employees, are actual American Citizens...lol...bet not...
Big OG...you are truly an idiot..or..probably an Illegal. Since they have overwhelmed this city, with gangs, uneducated (non english speaking) low lifes, it has brought down a once wonderfully diverse city...there were many different nationalities here, and thats what made it wonderful..but now, well...its obvious, which ethnic group is the cause..really obvious!!!!HELLO!!!!
Its such a shame whats happening to Las Vegas..and the country!!! We lived there for 5 yrs moved out in 04"...at that time we knew that this was going to happen, with all the illegals invading Las Vegas. I have thought of buying a place out there, again...for the winters, but, I just don't feel it is the safe place it used to be..sad, I would go grocery shopping at 1-2am..or go play Bingo at 4am, (by myself)..never thought a thing of it. Now, I would be afraid in the daytime!!! We also saw how the jobs were being taken by the illegals, as well...what started out to be lawn work for them (illegals) ended up to be taking jobs in construction..roads..Just about ALL the casino jobs..again too bad!!! We..Loved Vegas, really really miss being there...!!
so what happened unions, you elected Obama and now, you and your benefits just got screwed. this is exactly what you deserved. haven't you figured it out by now, the only thing that government is good for, is to trade one problem for another, and keep moving them around until the next idiot gets elected? then he can try to fix all of the mistakes that you made.
the sound you now hear is me laughing heartily, until the end of time
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Actually thats exactly what the unions want, so now they can opt out and their union members will have to take the public option..this is just another part of this total health care conspiracy..it will happen with the car co's as well...with their unions,its been a plan all along. So, look at it this way, we will ALL be paying for the unions to dump health care, we will ALL pay so the illegals will be convered (legally)LOL.. in short we will ALL pay..for less care for ourselves, in order for others..to have it free..
After reading all these post, and many before this,you can see that the strip is not the place it once was, and that the people that made Vegas, Vegas..still prefer the simpler Las Vegas of a few yrs ago. Downtown is actually a great idea..hmmmmm..maybe this will be the upcoming attraction, once again!!! Love this Idea..as for the strip,well, too bad, just too bad..
We spent 5 yrs in Las Vegas 98-04 worked on the strip, in that time we watched the city grow, and grow, with the new casinos. Too,many (I thought).Then came the invasion of all the Illegals..at one point I felt like Vegas would be like LA..so, we packed up and left..the town was not the wonderful diverse place it used to be..we went back to our home in "MICHIGAN"...need I say more..

Well, the town is not over, but what used to be Vegas is over..people are still coming, but not as many as before. Years ago, when the economy was bad, you could still get a deal to Vegas, spend a couple of days..play, drink, enjoy the sun,it was a cheap get away. Not no more!!! This town has catered to the high rollers for way too long, now those high rollers can go to many other venues, and the big shoppers, lol....the everyday visitor, the consistant visitor..they were the ones that made this town, and they were the ones that were pushed aside and treated like crap..now, what is left? A lot of empty buildings, a lot of hoyty toyty casinos...and no one inside..again, it is sad..but thats what happens when you forget the little guy.
