At the same time the County is being threatened by Republic Services to raise the fee to collect trash. Remember the monopoly franchise that McDonald pushed through while banging the younger good looking Republic lobbyist.
That deal was a "good deal" per McDonald because it would freeze the fees.
So here we go again...another "good deal" or we really need this deal and this crook is the only willing Robinhood?
Republic Services also said it didn't need county permission to litter trash along the highway to apex, leave trash in residential neighborhoods on collection day, have drivers operating in unsafe ways...frankly, they said since we got Michael McDonald laid and paid off the rest of the Commission they got nothing to do now but whine......

I just love it when my "conservative" friends call democrats "tax and spend".
As opposed to the GOP that are a "spend and spend more and go into debit with communist China plus interest"........my children and their children thank you!
One solution is to use less electricity.
Another solution is to stop the unsustainable growth in a valley that has sucked it's water dry and needs electric driven pumps to suck it dry from somewhere and someone else and pump it to "The Meadows" (that's Vegas baby)!
Or just "you suck"!
"Nimby's and Tree Huggers"...lol. Good for you my brilliant friend, name calling is always a productive course towards a solution.
"The drought", as the poster stated is a concern but maybe the big picture is to reduce CO2 and allow the earth to recover so the "drought" and our water supply will be secure? Power will mean very little when you have nothing clean to drink!
I am a parent of two CCSD students. Having been active in attempts to get CCSD administrators and teachers somewhat involved in the "product" and dealing with the process I have come to this conclusion.
Pay the teachers their base salary. Then provide incentives for overtime and commissions for performance. Tie the teachers income to the test scores x graduation x SAT/ACT x college acceptance!
I have heard many times in the last few months that teachers could not meet me to discuss student performance because their contract only requires they work from 7 to 2, Monday through Friday except holidays, spring break, Christmas break and of course all summer.
As for the administrators they make way to much and their salary should be deducted for crime on or near schools, teacher to student ratios, attendance, and number of substitutes and/or unqualified teachers hired.
News Flash.....Mindy Elliot is now Sr. V.P of Boyd Group department of "half truths" and political influence. Boyd Group said the contract with Ms. Elliot is only as long as Gibbons is in office, not a long term contract!
Democrats tax to pay their bills. Republicans just go into debt and add more debt and leave the debt for our kids and their kids!
