Las Vegas Fire & Rescue responded at 12:19 a.m. to the report of a fire in the Canyon Gate subdivision at 2132 Bay Hill Drive, which is northeast of the intersection of Fort Apache Road and Sahara Avenue.

The Clark County Coroner's Office said Angela Nichole Peterson of Las Vegas died from several traumatic injuries after a pickup truck collided with her Pontiac Sunfire about 1:13 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of Rainbow Boulevard and Flamingo Road.

- Binion's Gambling Hall & Hotel in downtown Las Vegas will close a 365-room hotel tower on Dec. 14 and lay off about 100 workers. Spokeswoman Lisa Robinson said the decision was made as a result of the economic downturn, which has decreased occupancy at the property and other hotels across the Las Vegas Valley. Binion's also will close the Binion's Original Coffee Shop and discontinue keno.

- North Las Vegas Police arrested two more teenagers Sunday in the death of a Metro Police officer killed last week at his North Las Vegas home. Quadrae Scott and Emmitt Ferguson, both 18, of North Las Vegas, were booked into the North Las Vegas Detention Center at about 8:15 p.m. Sunday. North Las Vegas Police on Sunday evening also announced that investigators believe they have recovered the gun used to fatally shoot Officer Trevor Nettleton early Thursday morning at his home.
