Wyoming dictates the pace but UNLV leads nearly the entire way in an ugly 48-46 victory at the Thomas & Mack Center
Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014
It’s a small victory to make an opponent bend to your will and play your style for 40 minutes. But the big victory is still counted on the scoreboard, and despite playing the most Wyoming-style game possible, UNLV came out on top in a plodding 48-46 victory against the Cowboys.

Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014
An amazing comeback only means as much as the next game’s result, because if the Rebels follow up Saturday’s late-game flurry against Boise State with a loss at Colorado State, what did they really accomplish?

Outcome never in doubt as UNLV dispatches San Jose State 70-46
Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014
When you play a team as overmatched as San Jose State, there’s always a chance the game ends up close simply because the better team knows it’s so much better that they relax too much or maybe even tense up.

Rebels not in a position to take last-place San Jose State lightly
Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014
To many observers, San Jose State’s court — complete with five shielded Spartans in attack position — might be more intimidating than the basketball team. Thinking that way could get UNLV (13-7, 4-3) in trouble on its road trip Wednesday, so the Rebels are trying to focus on what the Spartans (6-14, 0-8) do well rather than their record.

Vegas Play of the Day: San Diego State at Utah State
Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014

Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014
It’s been nearly two weeks since any of us saw $10,000, the fictional bankroll we all started with for the Sun’s Vegas Play of the Day. A victory today would push me back over that margin and that’s exactly what I intend to do.
