Letters:
Obama’s remarks display ignorance
Sun, Jan 20, 2008 (2 a.m.)
I saw an interview from Reno with Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama. I was shocked. He had the audacity (one of his favorite words) to praise Ronald Reagan and negatively link Bill Clinton with Richard Nixon. This from the man who just received an endorsement from one of the biggest unions in Las Vegas — the Culinary Union. Does he not know that it was Reagan who “busted” the unions? Or remember the air traffic control workers?
This in itself indicates his inexperience. He should take great notice and compare the country during the Reagan years and the Clinton years.
It is a shame he did not disclose his feelings before he received the union endorsement. This also proves he is not a true Democrat.
For shame for sure.

Clinton vs. Obama
Even though I am a passionate Hilary Clinton supporter, I have no problem admitting I am impressed with Barack Obama.
Yesterday during the Nevada Democratic Cacaus, I wanted to find out the reasons why the Obama supporters were voting for Mr. Obama (the majority of whom were under the age of 30).
Bottom Line: Mr. Obama's supporters are passionate about what they perceive as his ability to put this countrys' decision making power back into the hands of its people rather than a few select self-serving political cronies on the hill.
I can definately understand their perspective. However, Hilary Clinton has also agreed our government is 'broken'and intends to represent the 'people of this great nation'.
Afterall, isn't that what a US President is supposed to do?
(Unfortunately, some of us have either forgotten or have never had the experience (<30 population) over the past eight years of having a President who represented the 'best interests' of this country)
But what surprised me the most from the Obama supporters was their idealistic rather than realistic perceptions regarding Mr. Obama's ability to implement 'change'.
We can all dream...but let's be realistic!
Idealism vs. Realism?
How about a bit of both?
Our next President must be a successful ENTREPENEUR. Hillary Clinton has proven through over 35 years of experience she possesses the entrepreneurial strengths to implement the "changes" this great nation is demanding.
Hillary Clinton is a visionary but she is also realistic.
I believe Mr. Obama is a visionary but not so realistic.
Mr. Obama needs another eight years of experience for the 'realism' to set in...then Mr. Obama, you might have my vote.
Obama is the best candidate. He is both a visionary and a realist.
Obama is a great illusionist. He will make people believe whatever he needs them to believe to get their votes. Beware of his hidden motives. Only time will present the real Obama.
Dear LaRue S. Boenig: Obama has not shown ignorance, your article shows ignorance... YOUR OWN!! I heard Barack Obama speak of President Reagan, and he was simply stating a FACT, that Reagan changed the political in this country. Obama didn't praise Reagan in any way. If I told you that Lenin changed the politics in Russia, would you similarly assume I was PRAISING LENIN???
Hillary Clinton is SO TOXIC !!! She and her red-faced and increasingly crazy husband have managed to change the direction of this campaign to a negative, polarizing, downward spiral. She can't match Obama's inspiring vision for this country and for the world, so she is resorting to grossly misrepresenting his record and his statements. I might add that even Bill Clinton (who is a better speaker than his wife) never could match Obama's inspiring speeches either, and Bill Clinton knows this, and this makes him extremely upset... the notion that someone is more popular, inspiring and brilliant than either he or his wife are. He now disses, and grossly misrepresents Obama with passion, more passion than I have seen in him, perhaps ever. His passion is borne of jealousy.
