Letter to the editor:
McCain voters have priorities in order
Thu, Sep 25, 2008 (2:02 a.m.)
In a letter in Tuesday’s Las Vegas Sun, Donald Ross questions why, in light of the current dismal economic conditions, almost 50 percent of the voters support John McCain. In the last sentence he states, “I just don’t understand the Republican mind; what are they thinking?”
The answer is simple. Voters who support McCain are intelligent voters — they are thinking with their brains, not with their guts.
McCain voters are smart enough to understand that this country needs a president with experience and real integrity, not a neophyte whose credibility is questionable at best.
Mr. Ross also states that “if Barack Obama were white and didn’t have a ‘funny’ name, the outcome of the election would not even be in doubt.” This is a lame rationalization for why nearly 50 percent of the voters oppose Obama.
The real reasons these voters oppose him are several: (1) he is inexperienced; (2) he lacks credibility; (3) his positions on most of the major issues are wrong, particularly his burning desire to surrender to the terrorists in Iraq; and (4) he is a Democrat.
If he would correct these faults, perhaps the outcome of the election would not be in doubt.

Another brainless McBush-zombie has spoken. Enough McBush/TrooperMoose. Time for real change!
Did you really write this letter Mr. Finnegan? McCain's campaign offices throughout the country have become nerve centers for phony letters to the editor. They either create phony heart rendering stories or jump on any letter that questions McCain. Sorry to wake you, Finnegan, but the poor judgement exercised by the McCain campaign's open assault upon honest opinion places all these letters to the editor in doubt. Your letter has the same tempo and intonation as many others found here in the Sun, the LA Times, Boston Globe and many many others. We're just not believing it any more. People from many walks of life may share the same opinion, but they rarely express it in an identical fashion.
If you have had enough of people like the letter writer you must be registered to vote, vote, and make sure all like minded people are registered and vote. Otherwise the letter writer's idiot party will win and the world will be stuck with more of what this country has given the world in the last 8 years.
Elect Obama, raise taxes, have a depression. It's in the history books, if Obama would just read one.
neiman, you mean raise the taxes on people who make more than $250,000 a year and big business.
LOWER TAXES on people who make LESS than $250,000 a year.
Stop federal taxes on seniors who make less than $50,000 a year:)
And it is the current Republican administration that is taking us into a depression.
Wake up and smell the moose poop.
Vote Obama08
Obama is going to raise taxes on job creation capital investments.
That will hurt Las Vegas.
Hold on.......Obama is now re-considering his tax increase for he thinks it might hurt the economy.
Duh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Unity guy Obama does not know that 50% of the people out in the heartland are not Democratic.
Well, I doubt that Sidney the Third has the common man's interest at heart, what with how many houses? Oh and the economy is strong/fine.
This political add about John McCain shows how dispicable liberal democrats are. Democrats are always accussing Republicans of smear tactics, but does it get any lower than this???
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DHvJPGnkQ......
MSNBC is currently airing this add. Liberals are deplorable human beings. These are the type of people you want to elect???
Sweet, not only do you, firedawg, generalize all liberals as bad human beings, but you spam this on multiple pages with no apparent connection to most of the threads AND the link is no good.
It mentioned something about URL contained malformed file or something. Have a nice day;)
ps-why don't you blame the producers of the clip and MSNBC for airing it. Calling half of America as deplorable human beings is tacky and tasteless.
I'm a very intelligent person voting for Obama. I recognize that he's intelligent, and has a better overall, long-term view of what's going on than does McCain. He is also from a more modest background, has spent far more time around those who are not privileged, and so has a better understanding of, and more concern for, what needs to be done to help average Americans. Additionally, he seems to have a better grasp of the details of every issue than does McCain. Besides these characteristics, Obama has the temperment to work with people rather than yelling at them. I could go on...
When the going gets tough, McLame runs like the wind....OOOOHHH Suspend my campaign... A real President can handle more than one serious issue at a time...
What are the two serious issues that Obama is taking on now?
Hmmmm...One is studying for his big Friday night test.....and I am not sure what the other one is.
Obviously, the economy is not that big of deal to him.
He prefers to study for his test than working on economy issues.
I am being unfair to Hussien.
He did say that he would be close to his phone and ready to give his two-cents worth if needed.
Perhaps this economy thingy is above his pay grade.
WHaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... JF, that ranks among your most pathetic attempts, thus proving that a REAL president can handle more than one serious issue...
Thanks for your agreement that Obama IS that REAL PRESIDENT...
You are right....a real President would be locked up in a hotel room in Florida studying for his big Friday night exam instead of doing his job which is being a senator working on the US economy.
Yep...sounds like excellent Presidential material.....picking studying over working in the senate on the US economy.
Two thumbs up for Obama.
At least, he said that he would stay by the phone and if somebody needed him then he would take a call. God bless his little heart for being so generous with his time to offer to receive phone calls.
Excellent...excellent presidential material....
Oh, that was RICH.
You really don't have a clue, do you??
You have my pity
I'd bet you a year's salary that Obama has more influence on the passage of a bailout than McCain. At least HE has FRIENDS, who are willing to keep him IN the loop, via Video link, Email and Teleconferencing.
Too bad I doubt you'd have enough honor to take up that bet...
again, you have my pity...
Even Obama did not think he will have much of an impact.
Before President Bush ordered him to DC all he wanted to do was stay in Florida and study for his Friday night exam.
Ok.....Obama did say he would take phone calls...LOL
I doubt if Pelois, Reid, Schumer and Frank ask Obama's advice on anything. They are probably giving him advice on what to say.
On Tuesday, Reid was begging for McCain to help.
For me to consider the bet then you have to list the terms of bet in detail.
1. How do you define "impact"?
2. Who would determine the level of impact of each person? That person would have to be a fair and unbias person and one who has expertise in "impact" political science.
3. What would be the evidence of impact and how would it be collected?
4. Who would collect the evidence?
Or instead of providing the details of the bet offer, you could say that the bet is just another example of your lame and stupid postings.
On Tuesday, Reid was begging for McCain to help.
Ok, site me a source on this...
As for the rest: Now you are left to wax philosophic: the tactic of the argumentatively defeated....
Again, you have my pity, for you have no real answers to grownup issues...
"Reid specifically challenged McCain on Tuesday to take a position on the bailout package.
"I got some good news in the last hour or so " it appears that Sen. McCain is going to come out for this," Reid announced."
http://thehill.com/leading-the-news/reid...
I guess Reid was desperately needing McCain to support the bailout on Tuesday.
You call that Desperate???
You really are getting more and more pathetic in your feeble attempts.
As I said before, leave the dialogue to the grownups...
It is desperate.
They should make it movie and called, "Reid Desperately Seeking McCain".
Why would Reid care about McCain's position?
According to you, McCain has had very little impact on the deal.
If he has very little impact or will have little impact then why whould Reid "demand" to know McCain's position and then run around squawking about hearing a rumor that McCain supported the deal.
Sounds to me that Reid was begging for McCain's help on the deal.
Again, you have no Idea...
Go back to the Kiddie table, and let us grownups have a civilized debate...
Or you can just answer the question...
Or is it JFNancyboy??
You have so many stupid and silly questions.
Which one are you referring to?
This is your last silly question:
You call that Desperate???
And I answer that one.
I just want to make this clear. You were the one that starting to attack me personally first.
I generally do not call other people names or refer to their questins as stupid and silly but after 100th time weeks ago I decided to dish it back to you.
I prefer not to do this, but I have no problem dishing it back.
