LETTER TO THE EDITOR:

When will Bush be held accountable?

Fri, Jul 4, 2008 (2:02 a.m.)

Now that the news is finally out that the Iraq war had nothing to do with terrorism, but much to do with the Bush-Cheney consortium giving Big Oil a chance at carving up, for its profit, Iraq’s oil, isn’t it time for the Senate and the House to get together and hold this unholy administration accountable for trashing our Constitution, ignoring global warming and raising prices on gas and food to the point the country is heading for bankruptcy?

No other government in history could have gotten away with spying on the citizenry and ignoring its needs like this bunch of robber barons.

While George W. Bush was asking the Saudis to pump more oil and making it look as if he really cared, he ignored the Iraqi oil that he said was going to pay for his war. That’s the $500 billion tab he passed on to us.

Even if the Saudis were to pump more oil, who would refine it? The oil companies haven’t built a new refinery here since the ’70s and now they won’t because they, too, fear global warming. Their profits are so high from their speculation and increased gasoline prices that they are not going to bother to make our lives easier.

FDR said we have nothing to fear but fear itself, but I think we have to fear our government, because nobody has been accountable for the rape of the United States.

  1. amen - impeachment!!!!

  2. The reason the senate and the house won't come together is becausethey voted on it. regardless on lack on information;they still can get the blame for it and politicans will avoid it as much as possible. Its not an offcial war until congress votes on it. Thats why we call it the iraq war. They realized they made a mistake but they can't change it. They have to live with thier decisions. Obama is a lucky candidate because he wasn't in term yet for when they voted for the iraq war.

  3. Richard Richard, you certainly are living up to your nickname. I thought you leftist were all for higher oil prices to control global warming. I am so confused why you are not for higher oil prices now...

As far as more refinery capacity. Again it's you leftist who passed the laws preventing the refineries from opening. In fact your utopia is having us all go back to hunter/gathering in harmony with gaia!

    Let's see, coal? Bad!

Wind power? Bad! (according to Teddy Kennedy, it would block his view of the Cape.) NOT ONLY THAT, but think of the poor birds that are going to get shredded by the turbines.

Nuke power? GAH BAD! BAD! BAD!!! CHINA SYNDROME!!!

Oil? BAD! WE'RE ALL GONNNNNNA MELT!!!! GLOBAL WARMING!!!

Solar Power? Bad! It's not efficient! Besides those solar panels might

    Geothermal power? BAD!

Water power? BAD! The salmon or three toed thudsucker might get hurt and the created lakes will destroy the current ecosystem.

You all wanted the higher oil prices to "Get us to break our addiction to oil!" well now you have it. Enjoy.

  4. Global warming is a myth just like the oil shortages of the seventies, Wait before you form an opinion about what i said the climatologist were saying the exact opposit in 1974 they were saying the ice packs have increased by fifteen percent, the temp has dropped 2.7 degrees oh know we are heading for an ice age its global cooling. so what has changed? The need for a cause to collect research monies.
Just google 1974 time mag global cooling, and if its not a myth then who is right? todays forcast (the ones seeking more money)or yesterdays claim (the ones who spent the money)

    Casinokid

  5. Yes, a vast global conspiracy to collect... RESEARCH MONIES!!!!

No really, it's not getting hotter, the ice isn't melting, it's all an illusion.

    Kids can be so dumb...
