LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
Economy a lot worse than Bush, Cheney say
Mon, May 5, 2008 (2:02 a.m.)
President George Bush, in Maryland Heights, Mo., and Vice President Dick Cheney, in Tulsa, Okla., were out recently selling their vision of the nation’s economy. Bush said, “I know it’s tough times, and I know you are having to pay more at the fuel pump than you want. But this economy is going to come on. I’m confident it will.”
They seemed to be seeing the world through different colored glasses than most of us. National polls show concern for our failing economy is the No. 1 issue today on the voters’ minds. According to an April 21 poll taken by American Research Group Inc., 72 percent disapproved of the president’s handling of the economy.
Various sectors of the population have been affected by the downturn in the economy. The richest, which Bush gave the biggest tax break to in 2000, are hardly feeling the effects. The stock market will affirm that fact.
It is the seniors on fixed incomes, the middle class and the poor who are hurting. Reports from all across the nation report that food banks are running out of food while the food lines grow longer. A friend of mine said, “You can’t blame Bush or Cheney — you have to blame the ones that voted them into office, not once but twice.”

"Various sectors" are affected by rising food prices, rising gas prices, a falling but now stabilizing housing sector and other economic factors in our lives.
Such rises and inflationary effects can be directly traced back to the 2006 takeover of Congress by the (now) evidenced do-nothing-but-play-politics-leadership (lol) of the fossil Reid, the mega-shrew Pelosi and their uber-socialists who have done nothing but:
1) Choke off the exploration of new and real finds of oil and natural gas in the No. American continent. Congress, when not visiting America's enemies = act to keep our energy needs tied intimately to those arond the world who hate our guts. higher-than-necessary oil / gas / nat-gas prices represent a hidden, but all too painful TAX which ties capital into knots and denies abilities to spend on alternative energy technologies = which almost all agree are a good idea, jus too far from realization to abandon the energy spouce we all depend on, and America's enemies know as well = oil and natural gas.
2) The all-out push to have the (LIBERAL) Congress throw massive tax subsidies to grow corn to make ethanol, around the world as well, has committed corn and other equivalents supplies for this alt-fuel. There can NEVER be enough corn etc grown to fulfill the amazing estimates of ethanol dictates by the liberal Congress, THUS = growing foodstuff prices which affect the POOREST first. This represents only one of the ways liberal-socialist policies and political aims drive food prices up, and up, and up......
Liberal policies always hurt the poor first, then tell them they'll "fix it", just after the next election....
NVMakz is spewing his rubbish again. The fiscally responsible Democrats are always fixing what the Republicans purposely destroy. The Republicans take over a low inflation, low unemployment, shrinking deficent situation, reap (rape) the profits, reward the wealthy, punish the poor, drain the coffers, then the economy goes to heck and then they buy failing companies for ten cents on the dollar (as they planned). Then the American people finally take control again and the Democrats are left to clean up the mess the Republicans have purposely created, and the ten cents on the dollar companies flurish and the wealthy get wealthier and the poor get poorer. Then the cycles repeats itself. Republicans tear down and destroy, for the greed of a few. The Democrates build and create for the strength of the country as a whole.
The Republicans took over a failing economy, soon to be revealed by its 90s rotten CEOs and accounting-magic and when found out raped millions of retirement accounts of the POOR and MIDDLE-CLASS who bought the lib-baloney. A false-govt agency producing ESTIMATES (if the rotten 90s remained in place) of surpluses = world-wide terrorism on the rise while Clinton gets "Monica'd", planning 9/11 begun. That was the first year of the post-90s. The lib talks big in the 90s about Saddam, votes FOR the Liberation, then runs away from the very votes and long-term positions they take = that's what libs doo-doo.....
The enemy of America knows all to well, for several decades, that they have a friend in the American liberal. A friend who will never let them down, because they both want the same thing = a weakened, supine, socialist America.
Democrats such as Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton produced years where America's enemies knew they could bend these liberals over the Lincoln desk, because Democrats are and have been WEAK on the world stage.
Now, we have a nobody political puppy and the uber-socialist most-divisive person to run for POTUS since the beginning of the last century who will destroy the party with their selfishnesses. This is the BEST of a shallow bench of candidates.
It is the (R) who saves and protects, the lib-socialist who destroys. Then, blames their destruction, weakness and internal vapors on the Republican = the hallmark of lib-strategy.
Unemployment, inflation, job creation, corporate health, all have recovered from the false accounting, Socialist-colored glasses, phony good-times of the Clintonian 90s. The stock market has grown, housing prices and values still WAY above the 90s levels, terrorists on guard because America isn't asleep anymore, NOT going into the globally-failed Kyoto Protocol garbage == and on and on and on.
Also, lastly, thanks for not being able to refute the premise of my earlier response. I'll take the debating WIN and the many points you gave away.
You know those points are true, you're just too indoctrinated to avoid flailing away irrelevantly - that passes for lib-socialcommunist communication these days.
Those tire marks come off your back with a good, freezin-cold shower, so I hear......
"A false-govt agency producing ESTIMATES (if the rotten 90s remained in place) of surpluses = world-wide terrorism on the rise while Clinton gets "Monica'd", planning 9/11 begun."
Is that even english?
What does == mean, anyway?
Does any literate person want to transcribe that jibberish for me?
Either way, NVMakz would love to blame every ill in the world on the Democrats, but he fails, miserably.
Meanwhile, we watch as the banking system collapses due to lending practices that were perpetrated UPON the public... by the greedy REPUBLICAN CEOs of the mortgage industry. False valuation and accounting magic? Republican tools to bolster their failed mortgage securities.
NVMakz wants to ignore the fact that the most fiscally irresponsible decision in modern history was made by the Chimp-in-Chief, after Darth Cheney plied him with bananas. Thanks, Republicans, for leaving the next generations trillions of dollars in debt after your failed war.
Meanwhile, the actual guy who perpetrated the attack on us, the actual enemy, is still free and making appearances on YouTube (I guess that's what NVMakz means by saying he's "on guard") as our young men and women are killed by roadside bombs.
Meanwhile, your "(R) who saves and protects" John McCain sold his soul to the very people he claimed were agents of intolerance. He's now buddies with the guy who smeared his daughter with racist propaganda in 2000. He's bought and paid-for by the military-industrial complex.
It's all your typical Republican hypocrisy.
Most importantly, and incorrectly, NVMakz thinks it's the Democrats fault for the rising food prices. He might actually want to read H.R.6, which was the most recent bill that called for increased ethanol production (which, in turn, he blames for increased food prices). It was introduced by a Republican from Texas.
It was also voted into law by the Republicans, in 2005 (before Dems took control). It was signed into law by President Bush, who is definitely NOT a Democrat.
It wasn't Democrats throwing massive tax subsidies at the corn producers, it was Republicans.
And Hillary voted against it.
"Thebs:
Libs voted for the war (and still vote to finance it, lol..), before they cowardly ran from it. Everything's "too tough" for a (D). Waste of time hoping for another Vietnam. We're winning, did you hear, er, that's right == the major liberal media won't cover the War anymore because the surge is working. Live with that failure, "thebs"
Here's the website for the bill YOU put up; H.R.6, read it and weep...
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/bill.xpd...
Introduced by a Democrat from West. Va - in Jan, 2007, lol, lol, lol...... Strike that about Rs introducing it. 2 years after 2005, eh. Passed into law Dec, 2007!! The rest of your screed is in doubt now, isn't it??
"Banking system collapses"??? Really?? Prove it! A tough patch, but stable these days. I just bought two more investment properties?? Hmmmm.......
People are not responsible for the contracts they sign re: the "predatory CEO" and such gibberish?? That's a basic bedrock of our nation of taking responsibility for what YOU sign - certainly not yet seized away by social communists as "t" seems to pimp.
The 90s invented the "predatory CEO", which hasn't been seen to that viciousness since......
There are no "predatory" lending to any extent the lib would want to see = we saw all that fraud from the 90s. Link some cases here if any convictions have happened. I expect "crickets". The only predators around here is da' liberal.....
90s accounting magic has been long a FACT - destroying billions for millions of mainly poor and mid-class retirement-acct holders. You proud of that, a liberal's 90s legacy?
Such accounting and financial frauds are not close at all to the volume and seriousness of the 90s, a Democratic legacy == (glad that drives you nutz) and not even mentioned anywhere as the same frauds which wiped out millions from the 90s Democrat-era frauds, liars, schemers and wealth-destroyers.
I'm still enjoying that itchy place under your skin, "t", lol.........
"thebs":
Just figured out your "nic".
"the bs"
or....
THE B.S........
must be freudian, eh??
"the bs":
Here's the Senate vote of that ethanol legislation, named Senate Vote #226.
Look under New York:
http://www.govtrack.us/congress/vote.xpd...
Clinton voted "aye".
Do you have ANYTHING in your previous screed which is factually coherent?
Guess not, as the rest was a screeching whine about , well, whatever........
Keep itching, fool..............
Sorry, I should've been more specific. Let me call it by it's proper name: The Energy Policy Act of 2005. Surely you know that bills from different sessions can have the same number?
So, in other words, your entire argument FAILS. Blaming the Dems for something the Republicans are just as guilty of. It is == Hypocrisy as usual.
Introduced by Republican Rep. Barton from (you guessed it) Texas. Read up, son.
http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/z?...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_Poli...
As for the banking system, you may want to talk to those heavily invested in Bear Stearns. They're making an absolute KILLING. Another Republican CEO making a quick buck before he jumps ship with his golden parachute. Meanwhile, Mom and Pop investors are left with nothing. Good 'ol Republican capitalism at it's finest. The rich get richer while the poor lose everything.
But then, I'm sure you're quite pleased that Dubai and China have loaned our major financial institutions out of insolvency.
Oh, and since you're so interested in predatory lending, you might want to google "mortgage fraud indictments." More than a few to go around. Preying on the little guy. The city of Baltimore is suing Wells Fargo.
A dozen people indicted 147 times in Summit County, Ohio alone.
http://www.ohio.com/news/top_stories/126...
A 65-count indictment outside of Cleveland

And though you want to credit all bad things in the 90's to the Democrats, you forget or ignore entirely that it was the Republicans who controlled the Congress from '94 on. We'd love to take all the credit for the good times, but it was Newt's contract that beget all the deregulated disasters we see today.
And the simple fact that you think we're "winning" in Iraq tells me everything about you. Sycophantic Hannityesque revisionist history. Why don't you hop on over there for a visit.
You moan and groan about the estate tax but cheer the trillions wasted in Iraq. One might wonder if you were slightly bipolar. You can't even take responsibility for Bush's decision to invade Iraq.
Republicans have been so impotent they can't even find bin Laden, our REAL enemy. For all your bluster about Dems and the terrorist mindset, you ignore the fact that the Republicans gave up on holding bin Laden responsible. All the torture, wiretaps and extraordinary rendition and they still couldn't find a single man.
But now you've veered into conspiracy theory territory through creative punctuation and my username. Are you off your meds? Is your keyboard broken? I'm a bleeding heart liberal, I'll spot you the $10 for a replacement.
"the bs":
1) No, I just know you got it wrong and had to scramble. Wearing out google to deal with me?? For sure, you itch......!
2) Bush didn't invade Iraq, libs lined up with Rs and voted for it (before the libs voted against it). Clinton didn't have to do what Bush had to to invade the Balkans - must be the liberalism. Iraq's not in the news much anymore, must not be enough American deaths to satisfy the lib-media. America's winning, must kill you and your bleeding heart. Fact!
3) Not bi-polar == on target generally.
4) We didn't catch Hitler to win WWII, or the Kaiser to win WWI, ot Ceacescau(sp) to win in the Balkans. Bush has done a lot more to confront the allies of the American liberal than blowing up some tents and spraying some sand on some camels = as Clinton's impotency caused. The 90s = the rise of W/W terrorism, while da lib slept. lol...
5) You're too late for the immature insults. I chuckle at your desperate flailing word filler for the emptiness and soullessness of bleeding-heart liberalism
6) Researching my other posts, eh?? Must be obsessed, libbie. Try and learn something....
7) You set your nic, chief! Still == freudian in its "b.s.-edness". All this "off your meds" stuff makes me smile at your flailing.....
8) America's enemies applaud the liberal, our cancer within. You must have seen that elsewhere today as well.
9) Random mortgage criminals are not indicative of the whole of the lending industry, as even someone as jaded as you must know. Da lib knows all about financial frauds though, with the hidden accounting frauds of the 90s wiping out many billions for millions. As you say, and the lib-90s show "The rich get richer while the poor lose everything". These criminals pale in comparison. Too bad though, as I'm from Cuyahoga Falls originally.
10) Face facts and try to look past your poisonous bleeding heart liberalism; it has been == since Vietnam == the lib which has the enemies of America cheering == as they know who their anti-American friends are. Those who want weakness and decline for America castigate the (R), while cheer the (lib).
You're dismissed........
1. The Republicans introduced the bill and voted 2 to 1 over the Dems to pass it. Bush merrily signed it into law. Say what you will, but the Republicans are JUST AS GUILTY of the increasing cost of food. Hypocrisy, indeed.
Another NVMakz falsehood debunked. And add to that, an argument unanswered. So you concede the point.
2. More revisionist history. You must really be disenchanted with the way things are going. Bush didn't invade Iraq? You're a joke. Can't take responsibility when things go wrong. Typical Republican.
The congress voted to authorize Bush to take action. Bush/Cheney/Rumsfeld made the call.
3. On target? Not quite. Myopic is more like it.
4. Yeah, yeah, you're typical schtick. Liberals are the blight of the world. Wait, which administration was served with a brief that said "Bin Laden Determined to Strike U.S.?" A lot of good that did. Instead the administration LET US BE ATTACKED, and then twisted known intel to fit their course to war with a country that had nothing to do with it. Bet you're proud of that decision. Oh, except you won't take any responsibility for it.
5. It bleeds for you. And 'sycophantic' is hardly immature.
6. Learn something? From you? You've got to be kidding me. You really overestimate yourself, champ. Plus, I know the difference between an em dash versus an en dash.
7. Uh, you're the conspiracy theorist, here. I'm just trying to bring you down to earth. You're paranoia is getting the better of you.
8. Yeah, that's what they told me at the madrasah this morning. I was visiting the Pelosi shrine.
But then, the Republicans have done so much to foster goodwill toward America. "Axis of evil," occupying entire nations, etc. How many allies do we still have with us in Iraq, anyway?
9. Again, ignoring reality to pick and choose what to condemn. Come to think of it, cherrypicking information is old hand to guys like you.
But what about Bear Stearns? Another point you concede... Meanwhile, you rely, again, on pinning everything from the 90's on the Dems, when the Republicans controlled the congress. Concede, concede, concede.
10. Bzzzt. Wrong again. The Republican Crusade to convert Iraq has only increased recruiting numbers for al Qaeda and other organizations. They cheer the Bush/Cheney Republican cabal and the various blunders and missteps that only stoke the fire of anti-American sentiment. If you think bin Laden is cheering Pelosi, then you're even less intelligent than I thought.
They savor the attention they receive from Bush, Cheney and all their Republican ilk. Recruit, recruit, recruit... they love Bush and the Republican talking points.
But this reply was your worst yet. Couldn't answer half of the arguments I made... what's wrong, sport?
Republicans always say let them eat cake!
"the bs"
1) I agree, after reading about the 2005 law, the problems now associated with it. Equally guilty is more accurate and the case.
2) "We", despite the weakening pushing of "da lib" to give America's enemies the victory, are winning in Iraq. Even (D-Lib) congressionals couldn't deny this when Petraeus testified 2-3 weeks ago. The #2 response is just sad and flailing falsehoods from you. You're the one "disenchanted" with winning.
3) Myopic beats delusionally angry any day.
4) "LET US BE ATTACKED"?? Prove it?? What angry desperation?
5) I'm still weeding through the insults to find any point??
6) No POV there to comment on. Filler and whining moves on......
7) Same as #6!
8) I'm happy you agree with me. Liberalism IS a "madrasah" of delusion, but far more destructive. Did Pelosi have her up-swept '60s "do", or her 70s "do". Or, the Muslim headscarf she wore when meeting with our enemies last fall........
9) No point from you here either. I'm happy to make you decend into rapid-fire senselessness. Bear Stearns is not THE banking market. NPR had the former head of economic analysis for the CLINTON-admin..(they don't interview Bush people on NPR) on last week. HE said it was necessary to avoid larger catastrophe. I guess Catastrophe is what you seek for all of us. The point has been and remains mine.
10) I guess that's why terrorism is losing in Iraq. Why captured communications the last 1.5 years relay the Am-lib-allies' desperation, troubles and failing in Iraq? There's no Vietnam here for "you". The ONLY way we fail is if a DemocRAT is elected and gives away the victory = which is what they're openly proposing. I hate war too, but hate LOSING them more. Libs love losing wars, if it will weaken our nation.
bin Laden (for Kerry in 2004) and al Queda (in and out of Iraq) have only given political endorsements to Democrats. Obama recently got his from the Pres. of IRAN, Achmedinijad. We'll see who they come out for as November approaches, lol........
Your reply was more and more filled with vitriol instead of argument, your gig, it seems. "Trying to bring me down to earth"?? You're the one in orbit......
So it all comes down to you whining and moaning about the liberals causing everything, when the Republicans are equally responsible.
You concede that the Republicans also voted to increase ethanol subsidies. Turns out Lott, Brownback and Thune are, in your words, "uber-socialists" since they supported the 2005 bill. Wait, who's in orbit?
You concede that Bush took us to a floundering excuse for a war. It was his call, and his alone. He failed to take action in 2001 when given a brief that detailed what bin Laden had planned to execute and shrugged it off and we've spent seven years paying the price in lives and debt.
I'm not sure what part of that you consider "winning." 3 of 18 benchmarks is winning? The de-Baathification law failed. The parties are still as hedged against each other as ever before. The Provincial Powers act failed.
It's easy for you to claim we're winning in Iraq without any measurable proof.
But by Bush's own (ever-changing) benchmarks, it's a failed war. No constitutional review. No semi-autonomous regions. No provincial elections. No resolution on amnesty. No disarming of the militias. No support from Maliki for the Baghdad security plan. No increase in the independent Iraqi security forces. No oil legislation.
How are we winning if we can't meet these basic benchmarks six years after this fiasco began? The simple answer: we're not winning, and what little progress we made is, in no way, worth the time, money and lives we've invested.
Instead, the Bush administration has been myopic and delusional and given most of our resources to a pursuit which did nothing to combat al-Qaeda, our actual enemy. Again, it's the most fiscally irresponsible decision in modern history. And you cheer for it. Hypocrisy, indeed.
You concede that the Republicans had been in control of the Congress for twelve years, and are just as culpable as Clinton.
And all your bluster about how we're beholden to the terrorists due to our lack of oil independence but nothing about our banking system that has been hijacked by Dubai and China? The "larger catastrophe" avoided only by selling our financial solvency to the very people you whine about. More hypocrisy I see.
You clearly have no standards and pick and choose to see reality. You ignore the massive failures of the Republican party and blame everything on the Dems, when it's been proven the Republicans are just as culpable. All your blathering about liberal socialism and the terrorist mindset when it's Bush and the Republicans responsible for the mess we're in now. Al-Qaeda still exists, still terrorizes and the party you're so loyal to buries it's head in the sand and pursues a course of action that furthers Al-Qaeda's cause.
Your flimsy arguments are easily tackled, and you're exposed as an extreme hypocrite, NVMakz.
Such a wandering, floating-in-spacey response which whines all the faliled talking points - assumes things I never said (must be the angrier-than-thou delusions) or agreed to = it's refreshing and satisfying to see an uber-lib melt down like this. Taking you to this point makes me smile.
Anyway, to weed the 5% of information from the 95% screeding:
1) I never said "everything" was equal between the destructiveness of da lib. You imagined that.
2) al Queda has been almost destroyed in Iraq. They have said it themselves, but you disagree, lol... Live with your mis-information about that. !!
3) The only way Iraq becomes a waste is if the Democrat takes over and withdraws = giving America's enemies around the world their victory and signaling free reign to attack.
4) "bin Laden Determined to attack the US": A briefing by the Clintonistas to the Bush team in 2001. Clintonistas had no specifics, when, where, how, how many and so forth. No information, no answers = the terrorism portfolio of the 90s Clintonista Regime. Remember, the terrorist was emboldened world wide in the 90s.
There is oil legislation, multiple rounds of elections, most regions back in Iraqi hands, civil, legal and physical rights progressing. Once the American liberal stops acting as al Queda's agents - giving aid and comfort to them, here will be more progress as time marches on. Not that you want that; keep crushing the populace.....
What else in the screaming whine of anger here....
I don't really know - the rest is so delusional and screeching that there's nothing to respond to. Wrong, lying or just twisted - the rest of your waste of bandwidth.....
Wow.....
Anyway, your screeding and whining are more easily dealt with as empty as your insult-first responses are, and you're exposed as a complete delusional lib-basketcase, "the bs".
Thanks for the peek into the angry, anti-American defeatist mind of the uber-lib. It's been illuminating......
You're on a roll. Wrong, wrong, wrong. The PDB was written in 2001. More NVMakz lies debunked. You can't even spell al-Qaeda correctly. Bush sat on his hands and did nothing.
Responsibility? Not for the Republicans... ever.
Iraq has been a waste. You know it, just as well as I and the majority of America. Just as our "allies" who have slowly left know it. By Bush's own (terrifyingly low) measure, we've failed. 3 of 18 benchmarks met. A casualty of gun-happy oil magnates who had no plan for what would happen after Saddam was toppled. Miscalculation after miscalculation. Mistake after mistake.
The only thing worse is an apologist who won't admit it was a mistake.
But you can take solace in the fact that you believe we've defeated al-Qaeda. In Iraq. Unfortunately, you overlook the fact that they're still an international operational organization, and Bush has failed to address them outside the confines of his optional war. Instead they continue the campaign, and plans that were drawn long ago have come to fruition.
Thanks for conceding that Wall Street has been bought and paid for by the very people you constantly screech about.
Thanks for conceding that the Repubs are just as liable for the 90's as your mortal enemy, Clinton.
You failed, yet again, to prove any measurable progress in Iraq... for admitting that you believe missing 15 of 18 benchmarks is "winning." It's the Dems demanding progress. The Republicans just lower the bar and apologise. You couldn't even give JohnF an answer to a simple question about troop levels.
It's the apologist and the lock-step Republicans who are truly anti-American. Those who deny that dissent is the highest form of patriotism. Those who would gladly give up their civil liberties for the illusion of safety. Those who would send our troops into an unnecessary war against a straw man adversary and never take responsibility for the true costs.
You think you're a patriot, but you don't know the meaning of the word. Just more hypocritical drivel. Par for the course from NVMakz.
"the bs":
To make a lib squeal like a little child makes my heart sing.
Let's de-construct this:
1) Bush "sat on his hands" = prove it? Also, the "HE LET US BE ATTACKED" lie as well hasn't been answered, but you're simply squealing vitriol to cover for your anti-Americanism. Screech your lies to the Daily Kos......
2) Dissent isn't the "highest form of patriotism", that's uberlib-babble = of which you're in the upper crust. Those military people overseas, defending your ability to melt down in a corrosive haze, is!
The PDR (bin Laden) information represented NOTHING t act upon, again for "your deafness" = no where, when, how, how many and anything to act upon. Of course, it was delivered by the Clintonista holdover (and now failure) Tenet.
Here it is. Name for me any solid information in it....
http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAE...
3) Iraq, voted for, then voted against by the liberal congressional, has been a great effort - despite internal undermining a la the Vietnam-era, and America IS winning this. Denial seems your strong suit, so bite on that!! The terrorists are as desperate as the American liberal screamers who coverfor them.
4) The only thing worse than a corrosive-lib is a blind and deaf one. You're a club of one there, chief!
5) "Thanks for conceding that the Repubs are just as liable for the 90's as your mortal enemy, Clinton." -- a delusion only, here, you can smear a single issue to the total. It's lazy-lawyering/debating lying and weaker debate style. That's your sewer though, eh, itchy??
6) "Wall Street" comment = more baloney. Thanks for the protein, though...lol......
7) "It's the apologist and the lock-step Republicans who are truly anti-American. Those who deny that dissent is the highest form of patriotism. Those who would gladly give up their civil liberties for the illusion of safety. Those who would send our troops into an unnecessary war against a straw man adversary and never take responsibility for the true costs."
The 90s liberal TALKED bigger, tougher and meaner about Iraq etc than Bush ever did. Codifying into US Law "regime change" in Iraq in 1998, but just blowing up an aspirin factory while BC was being "Monica'd". Your liberals talked huge through the late-90s to the launch on Iraq, voted it as on, then ran away like the appeasers they, and you, are.
You think you're a patriot, "the bs", but you're just a bitter lib-corrosive straight from the E-sewer of the Daily Kos, the Democratic Underground or the Huffington Post. Your screeds are corrosive lies and insane logical leaps which use every warp, little but attack-screaming and I can feel your spittle spraying through the screen.
To be as blindly anti-American liberal and as bitter as you are here, it is my pleasure to have driven you to this point of the primal scream.
So long for now, "the bs"......
I would suggest that he writer forgot his evidence.
The economy may be a little slow, but failing? I guess if you only poll senoirs and those on the public dole.
NVMakz, who can't even get his own facts straight.
He quite literally sat - for seven minutes after Andy Card told him we were at war.
It's a PDB, which stands for Presidential Daily Brief. Not "PDR." Also, our genius of a President didn't ask any questions of a brief which misspelled bin Laden's name?
Instead, you're convinced the PDB said nothing, and gave no warning, yet you've never read it. You've linked to, and read, a page-long redacted excerpt.
Of what has been declassified, all the puzzle pieces are there. They want to hijack airplanes, they've been surveilling New York, they're in the U.S., etc, etc, etc. In fact the CIA author of the PDB, "was concerned that one of the East African bombing defendants had told FBI officers earlier in 2001 that Bin Laden would retaliate if the defendants in the trial were convicted -- four were convicted in New York on May 29 -- with a major attack, something the FBI interpreted to mean possibly in the United States." That's from the PDB fact sheet.
Again, the administration was myopic and failed to put the pieces together. They were incapable of considering complex issues.
Oh, and just saying, "America IS winning in Iraq!" doesn't make it fact. Your overeager enthusiasm can't perform that miracle. Instead, Bush is spending five million per hour on a war that has nothing to do with terrorism. Typical fiscally irresponsible Republicans!
But in your world, 3 of 18 benchmarks is success, so maybe I'm talking a bit over your head. Wait, where did that argument go? Oh, you dropped it. Concede.
And now you answer the fact that Dubai and China bailed out the lending industry with the brilliant argument, "more baloney." Those are some fine facts, champ. You're new to this debating thing, aren't ya? What's next? "Hogwash!" "It's lazy-lawyering/debating lying and weaker debate style."
Didja see what I did there? I quoted you against yourself.
If liberals are only guilty of overestimating the intelligence of Bush. He's imperiled the lives of hundreds of thousands of our troops for NOTHING. For 3 of 18 benchmarks. 4000 human lives. Hundreds of thousands of dead innocent Iraqis. Even our most steadfast allies are abandoning us... but all he can do is shrug his shoulders and stare into the cameras with that doltish blank expression.
Dissent is what this country was founded upon. It's a value codified into the Constitution, something that the brave men and women of our military - that Bush has so carelessly sent to their deaths - risked their lives to protect, and something that you'll never understand. You're a false patriot, never recognizing the truth when it's obvious. A weak-willed sycophant of the Hannity-Rush-Rove circle.
Instead you whine and repeat the same schtick every time. "Corrosive" "bitter" "socialist" blah blah blah. You are your own echo chamber.
And you're completely underestimating how much fun I'm having.
Well looks like thebs and NVMakz are having fun. I just have one question for everyone reading this. Are we better off now than we were 10 years ago? Seems like everytime the republican party takes over they do the opposite of what the party stands for. Nixon, Ford, Reagan, either Bush spend huge sums of money on the defense industrial complex and damn near cripple this country. Then people get pissed and elect the democrats to fix it. All this money going to the defense department doesn't have anything to do with making a small group of people even more money does it? You guys need to check out loosechange911.com and make up your own mind and vote with your conscious this time, not the propaganda machine that truly runs this country. God Bless us all, these are the end of days... I am going to learn Chinese before it is too late..
