Former Sen. John Edwards addressed a crowd of supporters in New Orleans, where he started his campaign, shortly after 12:20 p.m. CDT on Wednesday to announce he is no longer in the running for president.
He said that he is confident the Democrats will take back the White House in November and, speaking as a Democrat, said "I say to all those struggling in the country, we will not forget you."
Although Edwards is not endorsing any other candidate at this time, he spoke to Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Hillary Clinton and got their pledges to make poverty a top issue.

Edwards will be missed. His heart is in the right place.
I hope Obama wins and makes Edwards the Attorney General or some top position.
