Sun political columnist Jon Ralston is reporting that the Barack Obama campaign is claiming the delegate win in Nevada, but Democratic Party officials disagree.
Obama’s camp is saying because of his wins outside of Clark County, that he would receive 13 delegates to Hillary Clinton’s 12 delegates.
However, Ralston reports that party officials are saying no delegates will be apportioned until later, probably when the nomination is decided.
Ralston writes: "Party boss Jill Derby told journalist Steve Friess:
'I don't know why they're saying that,' a confused Derby said. 'We don't select our national delegates the way they're saying. We won't select national delegates for a few more months.'"

the party official did not refute the claim, he simply said that they have not chosen their delegates yet. the rules are already known, so obama's claim is correct. what the state official is trying to do is to prevent the truth from being known so as not to undermine hillary's win.
OBama cheats!
obama actually got more delegates in nevada because he did better overall in the state of nevada than in highly concentrated areas around las vegas.
remember the gap is less than 5-percent after substancial distortion of obama's record, and subliminal negative ads.
yet, the national party recognizes that doing good overall is better than doing great in a few places and very bad in a lot of other places.
that is the case of hillary, she only has pocketed support built over her husband's popularity; her narrow win is not reflective of cross-over support; that is the reason that with her narrow win, she still gets less delegates than obama in nevada.
the smart people that designed this caucus arithmetic recognized that pocketed supports do not win national elections, but cross-over appeal does.
so, it makes sense to consider overall performance within a particular state. the logic here is similar to college graduation standards: one does not get to graduate because one gets a few A's in a few courses while flunking everything else.
all the statistics suggest big trouble for hillary in any national race because she has no cross-over appeal.
now imagine hillary with the same level of experience without a popular former president as a husband. where would she stand in the polls?
No one likes a sore loser. Get over it. She ran a better campaign than you, she appealed to more voters than you, and that is just what it is. Move on and run a better, and cleaner, campaign in the next state.
Spew right wing commentator vile mm (they'd love to see a black canidate - if you don't think the country is still racist - get arrested sometime...)...
The delegates elected today go to the County convention, where a smaller number are elected to the state convention, where the final 30 Nevada delegates are elected. At the state convention, delegates pledge who they will support. Until that time, no delegate is 'held' to their original caucus candidate. THEREFORE, Jill Derby is right... we will not know, for sure, how the delegates will be apportioned until April at the state convention. Obama's campaign is either misinformed, or misinforming.
"Obama's campaign is either misinformed, or misinforming."
Unlike the Clintons... who ALWAYS tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, so help them G-d.
More and more, when I see the Clintons, I think of the funny as h-ll Al Franken book, "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them."
So help US, G-d, if those people get re-elected.
http://www.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/primari...
The Clinton News Network has it 13 Obama to 12 Clinton of the 25 caucus delegates awarded today.
Now Derby wants to take away our delegate wins today? Go away, please.
Hey -- Harry Reid !
I have spent a year of my life and oodles of my time trying to get people to get involved and pay attention to us.
You guys screwed up.
My Caucus was the worst organized debacle I have ever been involved in.
I first have to give up my candidate, John Edwards, because he did not stay viable. OK. My guy lost. My party rules said if you do not get enough votes you move to another candidate or you choose uncommited or you leave.
I joined Hillary Clinton's caucus.
Then I come home and see that Barack Obama, despite getting a substantially fewer amount of votes, has more delegates than my new choice, Hillary Clinton.
I lost three times today, and you wasted my time.
You guys have now joined the US Supreme Court in the annals of US Political History in stealing the election from the person who won it. Hillary Clinton won, but Barack Obama becomes our Presidential nominee if we are the last criteria used to choose the Democratic nominee.
Shame, shame, shame on all of you.
God Bless all of you.
tsk tsk tsk..
such sore losers, well it makes sense though, we have been listening to Obama whine along with his whining followers for weeks now leading up to their well deserved loss today, so what else should we expect from them? please stop giving the Democrats a bad name and take it with some dignity for once Obama supporters!
Hillary - All - The - Way!!!
Um... Nevada delegate selection hasn't changed in years... how Jade7243 turns that into something Clintonian that has absolutley nothing to do with the Clinton campaign is typical of paranoia and ignorance.... check back in April for the final delegate allocation... it will probably be all 25 (or 33 actually) for whomever the nomination will be.

A MESSAGE TO JOHN RALSTON: PLEASE GO HOME AND SLEEP FOR AT LEAST 24 HOURS. I'VE SEEN YOU ON TV. YOU LOOK EXHAUSTED. YOU ARE NOT LOOKING INTO THE CAMERA. YOUR WORDS ARE NOT COMING EASILY.
WE'RE ALL DONE FOR NOW. SLEEP OH MIGHTY SEEKER OF TRUTH. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE.
The sad fact is no person, no matter how fantasic, who is not white will ever be able to win the presidency as a Democrat. It's a sad day for Nevada that the Clintons were able to play the race card so skilfully and get Latinos and Asians (and of course whites) to act on their hatred of blacks against a person who is really not all that black. But hey it worked, right, and that's all that matters.
As for the women's vote for the Clintons, Mrs. Clinton has always been amazingly subserviant to her Bubba and that will continue. Role model for young women: "Marry a politician and someday when he is barred by term limits you too can be elected to get him back into office!"
In November I can't imagine very many anti-war Clinton haters in the Democratic party switching and voting for the Clintons, and there is no way they can avoid a landslide against them in November. This is too much like the Walter Mondale/ Gary Hart Democratic nomination fight when Mondale won but then lost 49 out of 50 states in November.
Reform Democrats, including Obama, need to keep their distance from the Clintons as much as possible, and try to help other anti-war Democrats get elected in spite of the landslide obviously coming against the Clintons. A shame since this was going to be a Democratic year and many fine new Democrats will be defeated in November.
Shame on Latino and Asian Nevada Democrats for buying into the racism.
AP and http://www.nvdems08.com/ show that while hillary manipulated enough caucuses, including bill signing autographs and shouting more false claims while he was engaging in voter manipulation himself...
Obama still got more delegates. Which was the point of the whole freaking exercise.
After all that the Clintons have done in NV, they get 12 delegates, Obama get 13.
Many of you claim that the Clintons have many more superdelates. Ok but believe me, Obama will get more of them as time goes by.
As far as the website Hillary44 is concerned, Americans will no longer let a few people dictate the outcome of an election. If Hillary44 was an Obama site, the Clintons would go to court to put it down. Bill Clinton would be barking like a dog in front of the reporters.
Imagine America voting in November between John McCain and Hillary Clinton. Do you actually believe that Hillary will win? No!
As I told you before:
The devil himself can descend in NV and vote for Hillary, He may even bring all his armies. All that will not matter. Hillary will not be the next president of the United States.
Bill Clinton may yell at reporters, he may even bark. All that will not matter. Hillary will not be the next president of the United States.
Marketer and political strategists may repackage Hillary Clinton and sell her to us; All that will not matter. Hillary will not be the next president of the United States.
All Clinton support can vote for her as long as they want; All that will not matter. Hillary will not be the next president of the United States.
Why?
Americans in the vast majority are people with a good judgment. They know and see what the Clintons are.
Barack Hussein Obama, Jr. is running for president. I have read his book "Dreams of My Father". This is a book written by Obama. In this book he gives us insight into his life so far.
In "Dreams of My Father", Barack Obama says his biological father, Barack Hussein Obama Sr., was raised as a Muslim but lived as an Aetheist. Obama goes on to say that his mother and father divorced when he was two and his mother married his stepfather, Lolo Sotero. Both his mother and stepfather then became students in the Muslim East-West Center. At age 10, Obama was sent to live with his grandparents.
In his book Obama goes on to say that in college he "lived a party lifestyle of drugs and alcohol." He states that he used "pot, alcohol and cocaine" to get through his difficult life.
In 1993, at age 32, Barack Hussein Obama became a Christian.
What a load of crap !!!!!!!!!
This man was raised as a Muslim during his formidable years. Barack Hussein Obama is a Muslim.....he only joined a Christian church when he decided to go into politics and after the first US war in Iraq. He didn't want to be associated with Iraq's Sadaam Hussein, so poof ....all of a sudden he is a Christian.
Barack Obama voted against the Flag Desecration Act. He stated that this Act was a "violation of freedom of expression". Obama states that the email going around showing him not saluting the American Flag is not factual....he says that he does salute the American Flag ....sometimes. Just what we need...a president who doesn't think it is important to salute the flag of the country he governs. I am sure that all of our veterans who have fought for this flag will understand that one.
The National Rifle Association calls Obama "a true enemy of gun owners' rights". Obama is also against the death penalty. He states that it is not fair for someone who kills during a botched robbery should get the same death sentence as someone who kills with premeditation. Guess he thinks the person killed in a botched robbery isn't as dead.
Let's face it.....we cannot afford to have another Republican president ....and we sure as hell can't afford a president who does not respect us enough to salute our flag.........
So.....the way I see it,the only choice we have is Hillary Clinton. We don't have to like her to know that she will always support our flag. And she is not a johnny come lately for healthcare. She has always supported national healthcare.....this is healthcare for everyone in the United States. And we all know that thanks to her husband and his enemies, Hillary has no secrets. We know everything about her.
In California, Nevada, Arizona and Oregon, we can make a difference to the entire country. We have enough electoral votes to remind the country that we are here and we are a power to be reckoned with. It is time everyone stood up and took notice of what we have to offer.
I urge you to Vote Hillary Clinton for President.
pattydarling ,
Blah blah blah
Obama has a solid, independently developed, and sensible understanding of foreign policy. He has truly unique and useful insight into the value to all citizens to have a respectful and fair society. He has demonstrated these things with abundance and has come out of nowhere, without the backing of a former president (who would otherwise almost certainly have been neutral in this primary election by tradition). The man's intelligence and character are highly impressive. He has been a very strong political force with his financial base coming mostly from small individual donors. Obama deserves your vote.... and the country needs someone like Obama. We sometimes forget that the seemly unsolvable big problems can in fact be solved... what it takes to solve these problems is a strong consensus of purpose and wise leadership.... that is the potential that Obama brings to the situation.... mush less likely with Clinton.
All the fighting in the world between all of you is doing nothing. President Clinton was an okay president. That does not mean Hillary will be an okay president. You know all the stuff she says, do any of you really check any of it out. You have time to get on hear and smear all the candidates besides her, check her out and see if she really has done all the things she says she's done. I have and I think you will be very surprised. Some things she has done and alot of the things she says is so far exaggerated it's hard to find the truth in there. That was my decision on who I will support. I don't want an exaggeration, I want the real deal. If you listen to Bill and Hillary talk at their stump speeches, (I have listened to alot of them)check out some of the facts they are telling you when you get home. They are all available on the internet at repuitable sights. I know it's easier to believe them, but don't get so passionate about them if you don't check your facts. I am a white woman and would love a woman in the white house, but when and if we put one there, I want it to be the right one that all women will be proud of!
I wonder if you Hillary-haters out there would vote for any woman for president. She has taken no end of abuse from everyone-- not just Republicans, but from the press and tv pundits, and even Democrats. When she asserts herself she is called aggressive and pushy, when she holds back she's called too soft, when she defends herself she's too whiny. She's not a beauty, She doesn't always wear makeup, she wears paintsuits, but so what? She is smart knowledgeable and has all the qualities to make a great president.
