Nevadans are a forgiving lot. They suspended disbelief long enough to elect Jim Gibbons just weeks after the Chrissy Mazzeo affair. They may have even forgiven the governor for walking out on his 22-year-long marriage. And some could have looked the other way as Gibbons cavorts with not one, but two, married women while his divorce winds through the courts.

But can anyone stomach the image of the governor, just months after taking office and a year before separating from his wife, frantically texting like a lovesick teen while the state spirals into the sewer?

Today's program was supposed to be about the truce called in Gibbons v. Gibbons, but as I always say, it's better to be lucky than good. Thanks to the L.A. Times for graciously adding to the national coverage in time for this morning's taping.

Conservative consultant Ryan Erwin didn't try to defend the governor. In fact, he questioned whether Gibbons can even get a job after leaving office and pay his estranged wife that permanent support she seeks. Liberal blogger Hugh Jackson was predictably brutal.

Now comes the news from the Reno Gazette Journal that the governor was having text on state time. Too late for today's show, but stay tuned.
