Thayer Burton, 17, is a suspect in the November murder of an Ashley Furniture store manager.
An investigation into a school shooting death has led Metro police into finding a suspect in another murder that happened last fall.
While Metro Police investigated the shooting death of Palo Verde High School student Chris Privett, police also received information identifying a teenage boy as a suspect in the murder of an Ashley Furniture store manager.
Thayer Burton, 17, has been charged with the murder of Robert Bills, Ashley Furniture store manager, on March 13. Bills was shot as he left his store at 3130 N. Rainbow Blvd., on Nov. 23, 2007.
Although the information on the Ashley Furniture crime was developed during the high school shooting investigation, the two crimes are not linked, Metro Police said.
Burton has been in the Clark County Detention Center since January on unrelated robbery charges. He has been certified as an adult to face those charges, police said.
Police said that Burton is expected to be certified as an adult in the Bills murder.
(Editor's note: This story has been corrected. In an earlier version, Burton was also identified as having been a suspect in the death of the Palo Verde High School student.)
The Death Penalty is the only acceptable sentence for this thug.

I guess it is Robert Bills' fault then because it sure isn't Burton's, right? The poor 17 year old just didn't have any thing else to do but commit robbery/murder!!
The irony in this thing is people can't wait to say he deserves the death penalty when no one knows if he's guilty or not. But I guess its guilty until proven innocent when you're a young black male in America. The media has already decided Burton is guilty and the viewing public has followed suit. So where does that leave Burton;who for all we know could be innocent? As of now, because of the way the media has depicted him and because of how skewed the American justice system is, Burton doesn't stand a snow balls chance in hell. This always happens when it's black on white crime, but never when it's black on black or white on black for that matter.

It would help a little if you knew your facts nkls3713, Thayer Burton is not a convicted felon. And until some SOLID EVIDENCE is brought into the picture, Thayer Burton is INNOCENT.

nkls3713 my brother a young smart black man is being treated like a hard core killer whos money hungry an has a rap sheet so the police say...i just lol when i hear that. SOLID EVIDENCE "like mamita13 said" is what they need to show because i have not seen it. The facts are this is a cold case that needs to be solved an no matter if they have to lie it will be solved an my brother just so happen to be the one they blam....im not sayin he is the most innocent kid because that would be a lie but what i can say is, before you believe the media wait it out the trial is coming up lets let the jury decided.
look at burtons picture...then look at a chimp. burton should have been flushed at birth. worthless. i hope they fry him
