Goes to show you, money trumps all ethical, moral and religious issues.
Better to have it safe, legal and regulated. Put the pimps in a position where they can no longer threaten, harass or hurt the sex workers. I feel the same way about drugs -- crime would PLUMMET if drugs were legal but highly regulated (and don't forget the potential tax revenues!)
Yeah, I agree with shootsnleaves--prostitution will occur whether or not the moral saviors like LV4LIFE agree with it. Better to have it regulated and above ground than keep it in the back alley where there are no required screenings for diseases, abuse can happen with no legal recourse, and so on. Same with drugs and with abortion.
"...money trumps all ethical, moral and religious issues."
Sure, if you assume that everyone is ethically, morally, and religiously against it. Since they are not, your statement is erroneous, except of course for you.
I agree with shootsnleaves. It should be legal and recreational drugs should be legal. Prohibition proved that the "ban" approach does not work. Either make these things legal and stop criminalizing non-criminals, or make alcohol illegal as well.
