Las Vegas Sun sports reporters Ray Brewer and Case Keefer are back for another high school football discussion. They look at all the matchups this week and spend extra time on the Southeast, which begins league play this week.

No it wouldn't be GREAT if Palo lost to Centennial (Ray). Why do you think that? The Gorman team would really have no respect for Las Vegas Football (even more so) if they played any team that's not undefeated in the playoffs and if Roderick Eason (awesome player, played for me for 2 years) couldn't dominate Palo, I don't think Jacobi Owens (awesome player) will. As far as the 3rd shut out is concerned. Centennial is a good team so I'm sure Palo is focused on a win not a shutout. Also, I will agree with you guys Mohave IS a much improved team!
1- Gorman
2- Palo Verde
3- Arbor View
4- UNLV
Love it. Ray, why don't you ask Hauck if he'll dress your pre season all Sun players in hopes of having a shot against Hawaii
Rost will.have Palo ready and motivated for Centennial...gotta feel bad for the bulldogs with such a tough start to season. They'll definitely be the best 0-3 team in the state .... speaking of state, is there any team up north that will even have a shot against the best from the south this year?
CHEYENNE IS 2-0 BECAUSE LEGACY AND CIMARRON GAVE THEIR GAMES AWAY.
Very good debate subject. Gorman vs UNLV. Gorman went toe to toe with Armwood, one of the best team in the country. Every kid on Armwood is a top athlete going to top football schools in the country. UNLV is far from that. I am not saying Gorman will win in a blowout. But, its a very good debate and will be a great game.
Guru....Cheyenne still had to make the plays. It can be said that Arbor View gave the game away to Palo Verde with all those turnover but you still have to capitalize on the mistakes.
Gorman....i love my alma mater, and yes they very nearly beat Florida's best with upwards of 15 D1 signee's, but the comparison was in jest. Even as sorry as UNLV is, in a 4 quarter game they've slaughter Gorman. It's men against boys. No high school team in the country, even #1 Don Bosco Prep has the depth to compete with any D1 program. Even one as bad as UNLV.
Gang: There is no way Gorman would hang with UNLV. Gorman is great and UNLV has been awful, but the age difference between the players has to be considered. UNLV's players are better physically built, partially because they are four or five years older. I can't believe I allowed myself to consider the debate :)
I wish The Thursday Night games on TV could be picked from week to week to put the best match ups on to get the best games. Or they could give every school a chance to be on TV over a two year period. Also wish they would do playoff games, they showed Palo Gorman but that was the only playoff game, would love to see others
coachearl, i think they showed Vegas/Liberty playoff game too if i'm not mistaken but you're right. Unfortunately the week by week can't happen since coaches cant change from Friday game to Thursday game with 3 days notice, i mean they could but it wouldn't be cool, plus logistically just wouldn't happen. I do wish they showed playoff games but just look at the stands last night. If it's not Basic, Palo, Gorman, Vegas or a couple other teams with decent support then it's empty, specially for away teams. This town is too transient to support their local schools or alma mater. Wish it wasn't so. It was crappy seeing more kids on the sideline for Canyon than fans in the stands
