Steve Silver and Ray Brewer discuss the dominance of the Northwest League's basketball teams and announce some major football recruiting news.

  1. Ray and Steve, I'd rather have a team who is 'overachieving', who doesn't have any superstars, and who keeps getting the job done to consistently fare well in the playoffs, than a team with many D-1 prospects or superstars on the floor, who isn't all that consistent. Brett Okamoto posted the new power rankings for this first time this year and Foothill was ranked 9th? and let me add, he says that the Southeast division is the weakest? If we look at the 3 other divisions they all have 1 or more teams who's overall records are below the .333 mark in which both schools who have this record each have 2 wins in our 'weak' division. Liberty and Silverado whom are the Review-Journal's favorites to win the division are powerhouses as well in the Southeast. I'd put money on Liberty and Silverado if we played the Legacy's, the Sierra Vista's, the Durango's, the Palo's, and whoever else is supposed to be the hottest teams right now. Yes, the Henderson schools share a lot of the kids, and you're right, Ray, a lot of the Foothill-Basic kids went to school together in middle school, but to say that we are the same as Basic doesn't sit well. When playoffs arrive, we'll stay quiet, with 'no emotion' and we'll try our best to 'overachieve' once again to reach, and maybe, just maybe surpass our Southeast Region Championship and State Semi-Finals loss from last year, but what do we know?...
